Listening to Hank Goldberg is almost as bad as lacrosse

Tell me about it, I missed the first 5 minutes trying to figure out where the heck ESPN Classic was on my digital cable channels. They've switched back over now. Technically they didn't not cover the racing, they just did it in typical screwball fashion. I did manage to get traumatized by Hank singing New York, New York. Still shuddering.

Listening to Hank Goldberg is everyone's lacrosse to bear.

They missed the first 15 minutes and just popped in, mid sentence, referring to the Blue Grass that they had not shown us!

They will be showing the race. What is the problem? Are you really that upset that you missed the first few minutes of talking? Hell, I wished the game had gone longer so I wouldn't have had to hear Jones talking about Eight Belles yet again. I was wishing I could have made the lacrosse match go to overtime like they do on that beer commercial.

My prediction when I saw that KG was the most recent poster in this thread was that he was going to argue that lacrosse fans would say the same thing about racing coverage causing them to miss a lacrosse game.

His actual post was far better though.

i remember when he panicked after someone knocked his hat off during a celebration. it was hilarious. the guy was thrilled to win one second, pushing everyone out of the way to save his 10 gallon the next. lol he couldn't care less about the win at that moment.

BTW, one of the best college lacrosse players of his era was the immortal #32 Jim Brown...

off camera whining. Like Thompson had much of a choice? What was he supposed to do when Papa Clem broke poorly? Sit 5 wide around the turn? After the first quarter the fractions were pretty reasonable.

Thompson even said in the post parade interview with Bailey that he was either going to be on the lead or near depending on Papa Clem and he was glad he was to the inside so he could make that decision right away, which he did. Bad news is the horse was hurt, good news is they don't have to find another rider to get run down in the stretch because the horse can't get the distance.
