Master Coverage

Most know, but Masters.org will have live coverage of Amen corner and several holes way beyond TV...and you can watch it at work....starting early in the am to late!

Great coverage!

CSC 04-09-2009 10:17 AM

Tough to pick a winner, I just hope it will be exciting come the back 9 on Sunday. From what I read the Masters committee are moving up tees this year to improve scoring on the final day, so it will be less U.S Open like in atmosphere and more like The Masters.

gales0678 04-09-2009 10:20 AM

this would be a good thing , the masters shouldn't be the us open

CSC 04-09-2009 02:38 PM

Furyk early leader at -6 but he is still out on the course. Phil looks lost out there...

CSC 04-09-2009 02:46 PM

Former Masters champions Mize and Weir at -5, -4 respectively.

jwkniska 04-09-2009 02:51 PM

Tiger almost looks lost too so far.... +1.

tiger likes to give the other guys a head start... he has to make it more interesting for himself.

CSC 04-09-2009 03:48 PM

I would never count Tiger out, though it may be a little too early to expect him back to 100% after being out almost a year. Really despite the 3 wins by Phil and Tiger this yr I don't see them being on top of their games to win this week.

let me be the first to point out that Tiger Woods won the US Open with basically NO ACL, and two stress fractors in his leg... and won it in an 18 hole playoff. Tiger can win majors at 50% healthy

So basically Tiger doesnt need to be on top of his game to win this week. He can already win the toughest major with only one leg. I'd like to see him play the British Open this year with a patch over his right eye.. just to see what happens ya know?

Phil on the other hand, is not good enough to win unless he is on the top of his game (which I dont know if he is or isnt on top of his game, he seems to be though with his record this year)

Coach Pants 04-09-2009 04:14 PM

Tiger is abysmal today.

TheSpyder 04-09-2009 04:47 PM

Agreed there Anti.

Tiger has looked like this on several openning rounds and would not be surprized in the least to see him at the end.

They replayed the delayed round against Demarco where he picked up 4 strokes on him to tie for the lead in 20 minutes.

Having said that, there are some crazy good scores out there now and the couse is playing more like the older days.

my humble opinion

Kenny Perry is my underdog pic

but.....................................

This sets up you know who

TW on the prowl and will probably win by more then 2 or 3 strokes

I am, as each year goes by, quickly realizing that just watching TW do what HE DOES is a part of history and I am cherishing it. I just turn the volume off

geeker2 04-09-2009 08:40 PM

Course looks unbelievable :tro:

Fuzzy took the pipe! Phil next in line.

TheSpyder 04-10-2009 06:44 AM

Wow, that is amazing. You can watch players do that all day during the practice round. Fans boo if they don't try one and it is now a tradition, but never seen a whole in one. Tickets are now sold by lottery. I'll post the information when it happens. If you've never been and are a golfer, a trip to Augusta is a must once in your life. I'm sure anyone that's been will agree.

Tiger will be in it, I just don't think his game is sharp enough to endure 4 full rounds of golf at Augusta right now. Nothing about him would surprise me though, my opinion is based on what I have seen of him since he has came back from surgury.

Phil Mickelson has had a
double mansectomy?

What happened to his
man teats?

pgardn 04-10-2009 05:15 PM

Rules of Golf.

They suck on the Harrington penalty.
The rules need to be changed.

Kev I need a ruling.
Explain why that rule exists.
It sucks big time.

Why does the rule even exist?
So guys will not stand over the ball forever?
That rule... I dont get it.

Why do golf announcers whisper?

the rule's mainly so that people don't move the ball to make the shot easier while lining up the shot and it's written for ANY movement, regardless of what causes it.

a small bit left or right can make a HUGE difference in how a putt will react.

Personally I think heckling should be allowed.

They whisper regardless of what hole they are showing. It is just kinda weird.

Is there not a rule about making contact with the ball?
If you make contact, thats a stroke. I understand the improving
your lie without touching the ball, but that was ridiculous.

Harrington is standing over the ball in a hurricane and gets a penalty
after he has moved away just because he addressed it... And the
addressing part seems ill-defined from what was given on the tube.

Damn game is hard enough.
I glad I am turrible and dont play anymore.

making contact with the club... yes. That's why when it's windy, you never sit over the ball when you address it (high school golf coach drilled that one into us). The addressing rule is really cut and dry.... compared to what they said on tv (bad explanation). It's basically, as soon as you put your club behind the ball... then.. you addressed it.

I have actually been to a few tournaments and they have
booths by a heck of a lot of greens. Fewer at the tee boxes.

But you are right. Someone whispered on a fairway shot.
It is kinda soothing... to me anyway. I think I may need
a presciption from a doctor to watch some of it, powerful
sedative.

Even if you are going through all the wigglies
and other strange ticks golfers seem to acquire?

Thanks for the explaination.

20-1 on Furyk? Sign me up.

Coach Pants 04-11-2009 12:38 AM

Hillbilly is a term referring to people who dwell in rural, mountainous areas of the United States, primarily Appalachia and the Ozarks.

Kenny Perry was born in Elizabethtown, KY and lives in Franklin, KY. Break out a god damn map and realize there are no god damn mountains in these two towns.

Furyk's nose should count as an extra
caddie. It should not be allowed on a
course as exclusive as Augusta.

If betting was legal for me over the
internet I too would take a stab on
The NAHS Furyk.
