Note to Garret Gomez
RIDE YOUR F*CKING HORSES OUT.....A$$HOLE.
Dont quit when you get passed....there is still 2nd, 3rd to worry about. Common "short person". |
Gomez is probably taller then you so I don't know who is the small person
|
That better?

Richi, you know me and I don't complain about much at all. But from my point of view, I am of the opinion that he DID NOT work near as hard for 2nd as Cornelio or Rafael. Not even close. I have taken enough beats that I haven't gotten upset....but when I don't see a jock giving an effort...I get pissed. You want effort? Watch Bravo in the HASKELL. BGC ran a mile past him, but he was gonna be d*mn sure NOONE else got 2nd. That is effort. |
Quote:
With regards to Bravo in the haskell, I would sure as hell hope he's riding hard for 2nd. Do you know what 2nd pays in the Haskell? It pays $200,000. His cut is $20,000. He'll make more money running 2nd in the Haskell than he'll make for winning any other race the entire year. I'm not surprised he was trying hard to get 2nd. |

You are clearly a better race watcher than myself and have been doing it much longer than I. I don't have access to a replay, but if you say he didn't quit, so be it. Just looked to me while watching that he was clearly not giving as much as the other two. |
Kev-
Did you need Edens for 2nd? Or are you talking about Artie Schiller? How about Kent D yesterday not caring a hoot to ride to try and get in the triple in that last race. That was plain awful. |
Quote:
I'm talking about Eden. I stand by what I thought I saw, but I have to give respect where it is due, most in here are tons better handicappers and race watchers than I am. Oh well....COry just helped me out in the 4th at DelMar |
replays are free from nyra.com, for NY races
|
Nice. Hope you cashed a nice one.
I just watched that last race at Toga over and in my opinion Gomez just wasnt on the 2nd or 3rd bet horse Kev. Dueling in deep stretch with the winner, who had tons, took everything out of Edens. I know what your saying about guys not riding horses out for 2nd and 3rd. Happens every day. Mike Smith use to be the king of that. |

Gomez
One thing for sure! He has no sense of pace in the race , lets chase 22, 46 going long real long no clock in this boys head at all I KNOW ONE PERSON ON THIS BOARD will agree with me. Oracle?

Gomez has as good of a clock in his head as any rider in the country. That is one of the reasons that he has made more in purses than any jockey in the country this year. You may want to check the jockey standings at drf.com and see who the leading rider in the country is. That's amazing how he does that even though he has no clock in his head. LOL. |
My midget ass just needs to learn to watch races better, I reckon.:o

True....I really do need to spend the money for racereplays.com. I'm trying to learn....not dumb enough to think I know everything. |
Apologize to Garrett
|
Kev,I think the guy often lacks judgement( not effort.)Seems like Garrett thought the race was a furlong shorter than what it was,but lets avoid the subject.Took all of 15 minutes for you to get the ball-licker's response huh? Not surprised.BTW,do you remember the name of that V Cerin horse that Gomez butchered the ride on going down the hill at Anita? We talked about it one time, but the name escapes me.

Bottom line is that he is an amazing talent who still doesnt ride with his head. |

Scuds...not sure if you are being faciscious...but honestly I can't remember the horse from the turf sprint. I watch so many races, thats why I try and make note and add them to DRF when I seen a tough trip or bad ride, for their next out race. Is it Sigfreto? |

Ahhhh yes.....stood out like Tiger Woods at a Past Champions dinner at Augusta:D |
Starts with a K(I think,)and usually ran atleast a 2nd down the hill until he got on.

SANTA ANITA PARK
Thu, Feb 9th, 2006 - Race 7 Purse: $52,000 Type: Allowance optional claiming, 4yo & Up Distance: 6 1/2F Surface: Turf #2 Kewen..........Has the horse in no man's land, and is rewarded with a predictable shove way wide when they hit the dirt.Nothing near that bad on that horse's ppf down the hill. That's all compliments of Gomez having the horse in an awful spot at the wrong time.He was just asking for trouble in that spot.Like with most of the trouble he has. |

Why the heck do you still have that email saved???? |

I thought you may have went back in your box and found the actual email. |
Geez you guys finally caught on that he is a talented moron?
|
Quote:
I don't know what he is,but the I know the rides on these 3 chalks were awful... Kewen,Sigfreto, and TM BLING. He may have done this n' that.."look at the stats," but on those 3 horses his decision making was very poor. |
Quote:
You can't judge anyone in any sport based on their performance in any given month. Every single great player in every sport has had bad months. If you checked anyone's stats including Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky, you would see that they had some slumps. The only thing that matters is how someone does over time. Just out of curiosity, where do you rank Gomez overall? I know you think he has tremendous physical talent but is lacking upstairs. Where does he rank overall? If you had to hire a jock to ride for you full-time, what would your list look like? Who would be your first choice, second choice, third choice, etc? I assume JV would be your first choice. |

he was inhaled nearing the wire by a couple horses after running the race fairly close to some swift fractions, he made his move on the turn and tried to steal it but fell short. he got all he could have out of that horse and I think faulting the ride is a little nutty.
