What is Your Favorite Day of Racing?
 

Mine would be the Derby by a nose over JCGC/Meadowlands day and night.

Tough to beat the Breeders Cup.

Travers Day after that.

As stated in the other thread it's the Preakness by a nose over the Oaks & Derby. The Oaks is actually my preference in attendance over the Derby, and I think a lot of people would agree with me there. 4th and 5th, ANY day at Saratoga followed by ANY day at Del Mar.

A winning one.


I'd have to say Breeder's Cup, although I'm sure many would vehemently disagree. (I'm not saying I agree with the path some take to the BC)

Any Friday at Arlington Party in the Park when it's over 80 out and we get a sudden rainfall. Sun dresses look better wet.

I can't believe no one has said opening day of Presque Isle yet.

Used to be the day after Xmas. That track sucks now though.

Any day that I could escape to the track BY MYSELF!(hopefully this Saturday will be one of those days.)

Whitney day at the Spa. Lots of people but its not too crowded, great racing. And a day & night in Saratoga cannot be beat.

I've never been to the Derby or Oaks... but while Preakness and Travers are nice.. the crowds are just a little to much to really enjoy. That and I'm always stuck behind a nasty hot Carolina BBQ stand.

Belmont Stakes is always a great time... the place is so big even when its slammed its still not too bad (just leaving the damn place sucks)

When I eventually make it to the Spa, I'm sure it will be on my all-time favorite list. I can't wait.........

I really like the Dubai World Cup day, but I'd put it a close 3rd to B/C Saturday and Derby day. That being said, I don't think anything quite matches the anticipation/excitement of Belmont Day with a Triple Crown on the line...

Hoover Day at River Downs

Speaking of brown jugs, I was going to mention the bikini race @ Hollywood but rob beat me to it.

Breeders Cup is my favorite day of racing/gambling.

Derby day is my favorite day period.

Preakness is the most frustrating day with 16 races and half of them filled with 5yo nx1.

Used to be Breeders' Cup day, but the NTRA has sucked all the fun out of it for me what with the 85 different races and synthetic tracks.

JCGC Day, you are at a huge beautiful racetrack, there are several graded stakes within a top quality card and there is no one at the racetrack or windows, no trouble getting in or out of the track.

I got to present the winning trophy of the 2007 Hoover Stakes!
