My 17-year-old and youngest brother's baby mama gave birth to a girl at 3 AM today.

She a 20-year-old former college vollyball player.

I was able to get $5 of action at 20/1 odds from the new father that the baby would come out half black. No luck for me. It looks surprisingly like him. Oh well.

Cute couple they are ... they met two years ago when my brother was dating her younger sister. Don't get me wrong - she's really nice and all .. and the cookies she made for Christmas were yummy ... but come on, you don't steal your little sisters man.

When he was like 15 and was calling on me to buy the booze - he'd have these painfully lame annoying friends and all these goofy ass hot little girls around him. The girls outnumbered the sausage - almost always a 2.5-to-1 chick to sausage ratio. The future situation looked so promising. I was banking on a scenario where he's 17, 18, 19 and swimming in pu tang.

You got this single studly older half bro who looks like you but just with an Italian splash .. the bro who taught you how to shoot a potato cannon and stuff! All's he had to do was point me in the right direction and dish out the assists left and right like a good team playing point guard. BUT NO!! He's got to go be the male version of Bristol Palin instead. Just except he used Levy to get to Levy's older sibling.

Shows you how jinxed I am. Nothing can ever come real easy for me.

my youngest is 17, and has those annoying friends as well. what's missing from the picture (thankfully) are any college girls. i'd have to wonder about the sanity of the girls if there were any....

He's in a metal rock band. I guess his group does shows all of the time around here and in Cleveland. He's always trying to talk me into going - but I boycott them because of how he didn't come through for me in the clutch.

He's by far the youngest one in the band ... late recruit for them.

Yeah - a couple people had been telling me that I'm probably going to hit a wild run of bad luck like 10 years from now - and lose my whole bankroll.

drugs, my best advice (from a woman married happily 23 years) is to tell the two of them to always put the other person first. and for gods sake, don't treat a total stranger better than you would your better half-it kills me when people talk to their husband or wife like they're an idiot.

oh, and you should tell your child 'no' 6 times for every one time you say yes. good recipe to avoid a spoiled brat, who most assuredly won't get everything they want when they grow up. and it certainly won't kill them to be told no.

i just think that many people believe they can treat their partner like crap- as tho the same rules of civility don't apply. that's one way to ruin a good relationship.

I remember when my friend's wife didn't know me all that well and she would be nice to him when I was around. I would leave and she would turn into hell beast. He would confide in me that she was terrible and I didn't see it.

Then she got comfortable with my presense and wouldn't wait for me to leave to turn into uber bitch. Screamin at the top of her lungs over nothing.

The look I got when I said, "hey man lets go to the bar and watch the game"

Sound advive Dani, but unfortunately the deck is stacked against them. I really think the whole age think is the biggest obstacle. Both of them are going to have to make huge sacrifices at very young ages. Eventually one of them is going to resent or just want to have to stop sacrificing things that normal people there ages do. Does anyone remember what they were doing between ages 17-25? I know I wasn't mature, mentally tough (those with kids understand this) or smart enough to have to take care of someone else (I'm not sure that I'm even mature or smart enough now).
Then there is the whole issue of the relationship between both of them. I really hope that it's a good one, because children will definately test the strength of it. My wife had a friend that had children very early in her twenties. She was married, but when she got into her thirties she had been a mother and a wife for over ten years. She started to realize what she had sacrified and missed. She started to go out (whoring it up) and eventually found a boyfriend. Soon after, she divorced her husband and moved with the children. The point is that this was a girl who never really got a chance to expierience her youth and started to regret it. When you get married at such a young age, you would think that there is a point or there are times you start thinking about what you have missed and what you have given up. They really never had a chance to expierence what should be their fun years (21-26). Go and do what you want and when you want to do it. Go away with friends and so on. Some people just can't/or don't want to handle that and eventually give up what they have and go do what they have missed. That's what happened to my wife's friend.
Then possibly there is the money issue. It's an issue that everone deals with. I don't know the financial details about the couple so I wish them luck with that issue.
I wish them lots of luck. It's tremdous blessing to have a child, but it's not easy. Just like marriage it takes love work and lots of sacrifice. I wish the whole family all the best.

A couple of his concerts this summer are going to be in North Carolina.

I know he's supposed to be getting married this summer after he finishes 11th grade and all - but maybe we can talk him into giving the baby mama a boot and hook him up with North Carolina's own KYRIM.

yeah, i know it can be tough. i was 18 and tony 21 when we got married. sometimes i look back and wonder how the hell we made it this far. for us it worked-but like i told my kids, we're the exception, not the rule. i tried to get my oldest to wait, but that advice fell on deaf ears. he's 22, and she's 18. i told him to at least wait a while before having kids.
