The track is selling a $10 general admission season pass for its spring meet, which runs April 3-24.

It's one of the true shames of the game, that tracks charge patrons who are there to gamble with a huge house take-out.

That is true, but if I remember correctly, doesn't Keeneland take out less than other tracks? I couldn't find the takeout %'s on their website, and DRF is blocked here at work.

I do like the $10 pass for the meet. Not a bad deal.

KEE runs 16% WPS and 19% all exotics. Just about the best in the nation.

What a deal!

That's a good deal. Admission for the public is $2, and many do go at least 2-3 times per week (it's perfectly acceptable around here to not be available of an afternoon during the Kee meet :)

I'm about two or three days away from scheduling one of my weeks of vacation to be at Keeneland in April, can't freakin wait. Still struggling on what week.

I would do Bluegrass Week....Wednesday thru Saturday is an amazing week of racing. Its hard to beat a G2 on a Wednesday and a G1 on a Thursday along with the great races that are going to take place Friday and Saturday.

They upped general admision this year to $5. So it actually is a better deal than if offered in year's past.

It's a good thing. Their takeout info for Keeneland is incorrect. :)

It is usually pretty busy during the meet. One of the neat things about Kee. Really everything is great at Kee except the POLY. Love the TRAKUS & HI-DEF.

Hi-Def is pretty awesome, and they have it on EVERY TV on track, really cool

While this is not a bad deal it certainly does not understand the modern web 2.0 concept.

All general admission should be free, parking free, programs with PP's free. Tracks should provide easy access to wagering through smart phones with no fees.

Trust me, I know that feeling. I can't even get them to budge with the whole "education" thing to allow access to DRF. Oh well. 287 days left until graduation...

Hang in there. I only have, oh, about 20 years..........:D

Thank God my wife hasn't blocked it at home!!

ten bucks is a deal. Arlington is $6 bucks a day and even 'private for sale' season passes are worth $60-$80.

$80 for the year now, but they have now started hoarding programs as you have to get vouchers to get free programs, really comedy.

I love watching Gold Room members line up for the comp buffet on Derby, Million etc day so as not to get short changed on shrimp. Wait till someones car gets broken into has his voucher coupons taken.

Travis Stone 03-09-2009 10:37 AM

Someday information like programs and past performances will be free. I really have faith in this belief. I never have to pay for a seat at a slot machine or blackjack table.

Since I work at LAD, I'm very fortunate to know what it's like to have free access to the DRF or track programs. I promise if I had to pay for these, my personal handle last year would have 10-15% of what it was. You apply this to thousands of racing fans across the nation, it adds-up really, really fast.

I always get screwed on that buffet becuase I am never there right when it opens. But we make up for it with free booze on Million Day, it is a turnstyle after every race of getting 6-8 beers out of there :)

I agree. There are many days when I would bet a few races if I had the PP's. I don't want to take the time to download a whole card if I'm only have an hour to watch a couple of races. When the PP's are free and available I often will take a look and place a wager. When there is a contest on this site and I have PP's I often will make a few live wagers before work since I have done the capping.
