Invasor......
I think puts Flower Alley to sleep today!
|
You and me both. my only concern is that the race is only 9 furlongs.
i think Invasor gets tougher as the distance gets longer. |
I'm not sure that Invasor is even a word
Flower Alley & Sun King 1-2 folks, that's today's ICE COLD* EX. (*copyright 2006~Jerry Cruz, Seattle, WA) |
siphon city and wanderin boy will take each other out in the front--wanderin boy would have a shot if he could take an easy lead, only way that will happen is if siphon city gets left at the break.
if i was going to bet, it would be a super. box flower alley, invasor, premium tap, wanderin boy. flower alley and invasor both will be stalking the pace....who will get the run on whom at the top of the lane? FA isn't fully cranked. invasor might have a leg up on him at this point in the year. invasor on top, flower alley second... premium tap would be my longshot bet. |

I think Invasor takes it today, because he has a conditioning advantage and he is a talented horse, but this is the last loss of FA's career today, I don't think he loses again. The others will be staring at his tail at the finish line from now on and that includes "he is here".
|
Invasor and..... you know, I'm not even gonna say his name anymore. People think I'm crazy as it is.:D
(Good luck, We Can Seek... just follow Invasor and you'll be fine). |

Boys and Girls. I think we could have a pace meltdown. Siphon City and Wandering Boy can win on the front end. Your stalkers, which are abundant (Flower Alley, Invasor, Survivalist pushes these two hard) could be jostling to stay in range giving us stressful use of energy in the middle stages. Which could set up for the likes of Sun KIng and West Virginia. (That could be a big exacta if the race falls apart)
I think this is a very interesting race. I cannot wait to watch how it unfolds. |
To me the race is going to be determined if Flower Alley and Invasor run in tandem behind the leaders. I think this could really bother both horses. I feel that Invasor is more fit that Flower Alley and if both of them run in tandem behind the leaders it could spell trouble for both. If they do run in tandem I really like Survialist in this spot. Now if Flower Alley and Invasor do not run in tandem, then who gets first jump? Who gets first jump into solid fractions is the key. Could their be jockey error in knowing when to move??? CERTAINLY. But I look for either Invasor or Survivalist to win this race. My dark horse is West Virginia. I will be betting $80 to win on Invasor--$80 to win and place on Survivalist. Then I am going to key West Viginia with all and all in a trifecta.
Somewhat the same as I stated by Eurobounce. Interesting. |
Flower Alley ... will not win this race.
Yeah ... I know ... pick a winner. But if I knew who the winner would be ... I certainly wouldn't tell anyone else. Unless Invasor is the genuine goods ... and/or Siphon City has made a quantum improvement ... this is a very sad renewal of the Whitney ... a real bunch of stiffs for a major G1. |

Geesh. Both you and Pgardn should post your picks in the contest section. Talk is cheap. |

... anyone who thinks Survivalist can win it ... is either loopy ... or ... he's spent too much time on that "other" forum. That horse is really s - l - o - o -o - o - o - w. It's not too late to save you dough, War. Do you still remember the old saying about doubting Bold Brooklynite? |
Sun King from the clouds
|
i love invasor--wanted to get that out before they run...
|
And I love hime even more after the race!!!!!
|
For those that had Invasor...Congrats! He just hung on to beat Sun King.
Nice pick for those that had him...I didn't. |
Love him too!:)
|
As game a race horse that I've seen in awhile. He just wasn't going to let Sun King go by.

dead game for sure. I said earlier that he was the real deal today.
other than the debacle in dubai when he carried 130 pounds and was possibly drugged, this horse just refuses to lose. right now i see him as #1 in the US. |
I got to meet him last weekend--he's very sweet.
I agree he's up there around #1, since lava man can't run outside Cali, and Bernardini hasn't faced older yet |

... I hope you remembered how that saying goes ... you know ... "never, ever doubt Bold Brooklynite." No surprise that this slowpoke finished last. |
OUCH. That one hurt. Just nosed out..
|
And by the way...who exactly DID Bold Bkl'n say would win?
Search ALL the threads. You won't find a winning pick. Find this red boarder for what he is... He'll tell you who won't win, but not who WILL! PUFF! BLUFF! GUFF! BSISH-UFF! Never a winner...just a loser. |

cashed the tri..........
I had a tri 2 with 5,9 with 6. I had only 10 dollars in bets on the race and i cashed that 2 dollar ticket. Yes!
|
All i know is I'm starting to get really excited for the BCC. And I have a soft spot for Sun King, as I do for all Charismatics, so I'm really happy with his finish. I thought it was a really exciting race.
I had to work today, but I finally figured out how to make the fracking DVR work. Figures it would be the thought of missing a Grade One that got me desperate enough to figure it out. |
Sun King getting up for 2nd ruined me....absolutley ruined me....
I am beginning to hate this horse....he screwed me on BC day when he won that Grade 3 race (2nd race on the card) by beating SCOOBY T with Jerry Bailey up and him not giving two sh*ts about winning that race. Totally F*d up my DD i had going there where I singled Gotaghostofachance in the first race. Sun King....I no like you ..... |
Kev-
I think Magna Graduate won that 2nd race on BC Day. Not Sun King. I dont think Sun King was in that race. |
Gander is right Manga won that race and not Sun King....Sun King was not in the race

sun king has been knocking on the door fairly often lately, in the money finish in the met...second a few weeks ago to premium tap got him ready for today. narrow loss. very, very nice run by invasor. nice to see. he certainly seems to like it here in the u.s.--and certainly belies the notion that dubai will ruin a horse. flower alley...well, i just don't know. i've never been high on the horse--and didn't believe his second in the bcc last year warranted his top spot in all the polls all year. so what now for him? i know todd didn't have him cranked up--but wow. i'm sure he expected far more than what flower showed today. |

OH...i knew it was one of those grade 3 type horses....all of them look the same to me.... |
