Scavs is onsite with sightseek and FG fan. Look for him on HRTV
|
Good Luck to Chuck, Bob, and the rest of the connections on a safe and victorious trip.
|
Best of luck to connections, and most importantly CK. May he come back a safe and sound winner.

Good Luck Bob!

Grumble

Very good debut.
Dooley likes the name..... He'll be very tough next time out. |

Broke well, sat off the hip of the winner until the far turn. Moved up almost to the winner at the top of the stretch. Winner squirted away, Klink tired a bit late and finished in the pack that included the next 4 or 5 finishers behind the winner. Flashed decent tactical speed and just tired a bit late. IF he comes back good and can get into another race fairly soon, he'll be tough to handle. |

Thanks for the update, Bigs. |

Comes back good with a start under his belt should make him a force to be reckoned with in the next race. |
congrats Bob and Chuck! very nice first start.:tro:
|
i thought he looked pretty good til right at the end, didn't maintain a straight line the last hundred or so yards-but i look forward to his next for sure. he was loping along pretty easy early on.

I thought it was a good effort considering the time he missed training the last 6 weeks or so. We sent him down to Richie because even though he was able to get some works in toward the end of December and through January we just didnt get much galloping in. So despite the semi regular work pattern there was a lot of missed time. Was a little surprised that he broke so alertly and showed speed but that will be an asset as he gains fitness and experience. He is an IL bred so as long as Giant Oak stays with the big boys we should be ok. At the very least Scavs was able to have a grand old time!

In Jan the track was open for 12 days and maybe 1/2 of those days was it good enough to do anything but jog. Today was the first day in Feb it was open. And they closed 4 days for Xmas and new years. |
Looking forward to seeing him in Chicago. Best of luck to Bob and Chuck.
|
at least Scav now knows how a real player rolls ie Richie Scherer. Over/under on Richie's g/f's w/him? 3.

Knowing both Richie and Scav, Scav is in Kenner at the airport in the Bourbon St. Bar and Richie now has a dozen women around him in the French Quarter.
|
I was very pleased with the result based on the chart, but haven't been able to catch the replay yet. Long story but i missed the live running of it. It's very hard to win 1st out at this time of year because of the experience factor... he showed good tactical speed and beat half the field despite tiring late after chasing the horse I thought was the one to beat... that is a great debut IMO. We love our boy :)

If he used that AMEX at the place he sent me a picture of this morning....:$: :$: :$: |

Hey Bob, Larry says thanks:tro: |
:p Bourbon St. is like Vegas...what happens here stays here...:D I'm already afraid of the timeline!!! All I can say is BEADS and HURRICANES!!! |
Quote:
Hurricanes had to knock Scavy for a loop. No way he can stand up to the power of a hurricane. What happens there stays there....until Scav tosses up a timeline. |

He did better than I thought with the Hurricanes!! Fun, fun 2 days at the Fairgrounds. Thanks to GBob, Scavs and company for letting us share in Col. Klink's debut. He looked absolutely fantastic in the barn afterwards, feisty, playful and gobbling up his hay!!! I though he ran a really nice race, open company, first time out and a large field. Can't wait for him to run again. |

2nd off, I am alive and well. Stomach kinda hurts but it comes with the territory. FGFan warned me about the hurricanes sneaking up on me and after #4, it did :) I have to thank FGFan, she was absolutely amazing. She took me around and I learned so much about New Orleans and its history and also got to experience stuff that I would have never. All in one night :) I had an amazing time. Thank you again, I really appreciate it. Now for Klink. F'n hilarious horse. I get there and he is acting calm and collected, I couldn't believe it. No mouthy no trying to smoke other horses, nothing. He get to the saddling ring and I am expecting him to take a bite out of Richie and nothing, he was basically sleeping. Then the race and after the race, GOOD OLE Klink causing a ruckess. Timeline to come soon, but I will let one hilarious thing leak. After the race and we were to the barn to see him and how he was doing, he is walking and the groom is about to put him back in his stall. He goes into the stall, groom takes the bridal off, and drops something. HILARIOUS KLINK LEAVES the stall and the groom, who is 5'2 maybe 110 starts wrestling with Klink in his belly region. The only thing not out of his stall was his ass. Of course my dumb ass is just staring at him not doing anything watching all this go down. I think Nicole has a great picture of it actually. Classic. |
