You can probably handicap for the Thunder Road to come off the turf

IrishofNDMan 02-06-2009 10:21 PM

Haven't been gambling much lately, but I am going to place one bet tomorrow. I have a feeling that Bittel Road is going to run a huge race in the Robert B. Lewis and will be placing a nice win bet on him. Any other opinions on this race?

letswastemoney 02-06-2009 10:48 PM

go Tiago! :)

Note that Bittel Road tends to run much closer to the pace when Johnny V is up. He could sit the perfect trip just off the pace tomorrow.

eajinabi 02-06-2009 11:24 PM

THE BET:

$50 WP on Blue Exit

He could sit a good trip, but is he good enough ? I dont think he is.

I really think the Cash Call Mile was a very Weak Race (only time will Tell)
But Bittel Road Lost Ground when the running Started. and Mark S the Cooler a Maiden at the time of the Cash Call is only beaten 5 lengths. WHy O'neill is trying to turn this one into a Main track specialist is very Surprising. And Pioneer of the Nile I am not sure he is as Good as everyone thinks he might be.

So I quess if I were Playing I would have to look at someone that did not run in the Cash Call. MAybe Papa Clem or Shafted.

Shafted will run big today, i totally disagree w/ you about potn he is the real deal.

Mike 02-07-2009 05:37 PM

Monterey Jazz/Monba box here in the 7th at SA

10 pnt move up 02-07-2009 05:51 PM

Matto Mando just sh it all over Stardom Bound, almost 2 seconds faster.....granted it was a freak performance but man Stardom Bound was really average today and MM was freakish.

declansharbor 02-07-2009 05:54 PM

Only saw it once but it looked like a dream trip for Matto Mondo. Have yet to see Stardom Bound's race. 2 full seconds is a good bit though.

pointgivenpap 02-07-2009 06:59 PM

Blue Exit ran great, you just got a unlucky trip. Nice stab.

Thanks. Cant complain on the trip. Even without the bump, Cowboy Cal still wins it in the photo. At least I made a little money.

What race were you watching??? The dead coacroach on the racetrack finished better than him.

Travis Stone 02-07-2009 09:00 PM

For all the knocking on the 3-year-olds of last year (myself included), Cowboy Cal continues to just run hard and win. Regardless of how fast, he's a cool horse and is fun to watch.

He is a very game horse. Seems to kick in gear when he senses other horses next to him.

I'd like to know what race you were watching??? If you are referring to POTN, I think you are way off. He finished very impressively.

Travis Stone 02-08-2009 07:41 AM

POTN came-home in sub-29 seconds. I thought it was extremely strong as they weren't backing-up at SA like they often can.

Monterey Jazz ran off on the front end the way only MJ can do. Pace makes the race. Do not get hung up on time. Street Sense lost the a desperately slow Blue Grass; didn't keep him from winning the Derby.

lol
i went back to re-read last night, because that was my first thought as well, that he was talking about pioneer.
but he was replying to a post about shafted.

10 pnt move up 02-08-2009 02:27 PM

How bad a trainer is Frankel, took over Stardom Bound and she regressed 20 Beyer points, think Andy has an article about that ( :

I think the figure was a little light and the track slowed a bit as the day wore on, I think the run by Matto Mondo is throwing that perception off, that was freaky good run only to get a 100 beyer.

It was in reference to Shafted.

Danzig 02-08-2009 06:09 PM

i'd have to go with champs elysees here.

Danzig 02-08-2009 06:12 PM

wow!

i believe it was magnum they were just talking about-that he was recently gelded. looks like it worked.

thought well armed was going to steal it.

10 pnt move up 02-08-2009 06:13 PM

So on straight figures thats about a beyer of 75-80 on the final time......it will be interesting if Beyer junks the final time and gives it an arbitrary figure because of the pace (not sure they do that though), 114 is just crazy slow.

well armed could not have it any easier as he did yesterday. he just plain sux!

King Glorious 02-15-2009 10:35 PM

So now Iavarone is saying that after going over it with Frankel, she's going in the SA Oaks first and then if all goes well, to the SA Derby.

Funny that Evita Argentina is entered tomorrow against the boys in the San Vicente, in part her trainer says, to keep her from having to face Stardom Bound.
