Just watched the trailer for this upcoming show or series...looks rather interesting. Any thoughts?

My bad...I search "jockeys" to see if anyone has started and post and nothing came up...then in my travels I see "jockey" without an S. Anyway...this clip is a bit longer then 5 seconds....

I do think it looks interesting, but I do think they are trying to spin/sell it more as a soap opera (between the romances, bad blood and fights) than a true documentry. But, I will definitely watch it. |

Did they really have to show all the spills? The show is going to be on animal planet where millions of animal lovers are going to watching horses die on the track....not exactly good for the sport
|
Are jockeys now considered animals?

pin heads.. are they an animal?

Coming soon to Fox Reality channel:
"Drooling inmates in the asylum laced up in their straight jackets". |
We are so starved for coverage of our sport in the media, that I'm sure I'll have to give it a chance.

Full page back cover ad in Rolling Stone with the tag line "Win or die trying"...
At least they are trying to market it to a different/new audience |

"Couldn't run out of sight on a dark night."
The Green Monkey just got a trivia question shout out at the commercial break. Hmm I wonder what's the most money paid for a TB racehorse (obviously as a racing prospect not as a stallion prospect)...$2.5 mil, $7 mil, could it be....$16 million? Yup, that was easy. |
Loved Brandon Meier talking to his Dad about his win and then looking at the camera and saying 'he must have been out with ONE of his g/f's' , on the day before Valentines Day. I know someone who's in trouble. Good Luck Randy.

I thought this week's episodes were much better than last week's.
the one thing that bothers me is the phony racecalls from Trevor Denman. |

ie Inez Karlson at Arl? Guess trainers are only prejudice against Ausies and not Sweeds. She can't ride period!! AM or PM. Get rid of the baby fat and bad attitude. Makes friends w/Brandon M and then sulks when he wins his first? Sorry back to Australia where she belongs.

Seriously though what was she doing in Australia that made her bad? I honestly don't know, it's not that I'm defending her. I just enjoyed hearing some of the things like with Baffert this past week discussing Brandon and his height as one thing that made people nervous. That's an actual point that doesn't indicate a bias like 'I lost money and I blame the jock, ergo he/she sucks.' There was some discussion about Gomez vs. Smith that, again, indicated exactly why you'd go with one or the other based on technique. Kayla said herself she had problems as a younger person and supposedly has it under control so maybe she didn't do herself any favors. One of the other jockeys on the show said she often rides horses anybody else would avoid so that can't help. Does she not place her horse well? Does she manhandle them? What does she do other than not win frequently? Like what would be her fault specifically? I'm just trying to learn. |

This is probably the worst reality show ever. They replay the same **** over 15,000 times. It's ridiculous.

For those of you trying to convince yourselves that Kayla Stra is better looking than that Sutherland woman:
