1/3: Aqueduct (C/O); Gulfstream (R4-R9)

Valiant effort at Santa Anita C/O was dashed by 6th race (3rd leg) miscue when my two inclusions (3-2 fave Cat Brulay and 9-2 Cape Hatchet) could not reel in courageous frontrunner Wine on the Porch (6-1). 5 of 6 conso prize of $449.00 justified the $288 investment, and 'Best Value' nightcap winner Weevescent's $20.20 mutuel closed the good day.

Earlier in the afternoon, while my Aqueduct effort was barely mediocre, it did include all the mutuels in the 5th as long as you included 4th choice Kiss and Fly who wore down top tab Carpathian. A $222 tri and $785 super were there if you used all four. Otherwise, I was stumped at Ozone Park... Hope you did OK!

Aqueduct produced a double carry of $118,000 which I look at below, ansd Gulfstream open up at Hallandale Beach... Hope you did well yesterday, and best of luck to those playing in TwinSpires' 'Biggest Vegas Qualifier Ever' including ATR's Gus Alonso... Remember that 'Beat the Host' is starting at Xpressbet today as well!

I'm swinging deep in the Hal's Hope, an exacta box of Now a Victor/Bullsboy

dellinger63 01-03-2009 09:33 AM

Hope the figs on Lake Butler are right and not just Finger Lakes inflated.

Mike,

I liked Bullsboy in there too... Used Cuba and Fearless in the Selections, but I'll key Bribon and Victor with 5 or 6. It's a fun btting race...

G/L!

Dell,

Even if they are a tad inflated, Lake Butler 'forward progress' is appealling at that price...

G/L today!

Love Fearless Vision at price in the Hal's Hope

Steve, not using Jazzandthemagician in the Bid?

No Jazz for me.. He can certainly hit the board, but needs to step it up to do so. Bee Cee Cee is as fast as he is and will be 3X the price...

docicu3 01-03-2009 09:56 AM

I agree that the 5th at the Big A is impossiblr but if you go that deep leaving #8 El Borracho off the play given the improvement and TGH pattern may be a huge 30-1 regret. I will be keying him with 5,6,10 in this race. A race where money can be made today. GL all.....

THX!! Loved him and couldn't understand why he wasn't getting bet at all. In a N2L like that, I always prefer a horse which hasn't proven he's questionable as a repeat winner... 2nd lifetime and was darn good breaking maiden. 10-1 was a gift. (Made up for leaving Professional Woman off the first leg of the P6 ticket.. )

I was thinking same thing.. No 'impossible' horses, but to have each of these winners on your ticket, it had to be a very deep play..

Isn't 8-5 a little over the top on More Than Willing here (GP 6th)?

Who is everyone playing????

17-1 on Vindicat looks generous..

Impressive run by Delightful Kiss. I didn't see that coming at all... And the early splits didn't appear closer-friendly. The Pete Anderson story kicks off '09 in a big way, and it looks like the gelding is going to be handy on the H'cap scene.

I can't believe how well this exacta paid ......no tri but $10 exacta wheel pays $4200. I feel like I will be doing time for larceny here....best part no taxes!!

Glad you got some Charlie.....Andy had a nice call on Red Hot Bullet at GP that deserves mention

CharlieR 01-03-2009 08:41 PM

Steve,
Tried again today to roll Pick 3s and the late Pick 4 with your choices. Hit the late Pick 3 + Conso for late scratch of the 10.

3:08:49 PM Race 7 AQUEDUCT $1.00 Pick 3 3,4,7,9,11/ 4/ 2,3,10 NET $15.00 $62.00

Overall had a few nice hits today that totaled over $250 but then got a little greedy trying to score "big". Have to work on that $$ management!

Thanks to Steve, Andy and several others on the board who pointed me in directions that made for another fun day.
Now back to my reading. Recently finished Steve Crist - Exotic Betting. For XMAS my wife bought me Bet with the Best 1&2 package on DRF. Working on #1. :)
