Rahm Emanuel
IMO he is likely Individual C in the Blago indictment (a former House Rep) and if that is true it spells trouble with a capital T for Obama.

it was tagged on Drudge as causing Obama to get a Grand Jury subpoena. Whether he has gotten it yet isn't clear.

when did he resign his seat? |

I just read that part of the indictment again. It seems almost impossible that a very highly placed member of the Obama campaign..a campaign that has painstakingly distanced itself from Blago at every opportunity, would, 16 days before the election be involved with trying to help him move funds around. My money is that Individual C is Dan Rostenkowski or Dennis Hastert |

Rosty is a good pic and probably odds wise is ahead of Emanuel. I'm just partial to Rahm LOL. |

The news said that Senate Candidate #1 who Obama wanted appointed was Valerie Jarrett. She withdrew about the same time Blago was calling Obama a mother f*cker. |
who's concrete contractor man? Plote or Polumbo?
|
The Obama Administration will be crippled by scandal by year 2. Numerous scandals, probably most of which Obama has no idea about.
You can't put these Chicago guys in power and expect anything else. Texas and Illinois have more thugs than any states in the country. Maybe LA gives them a run. |
Rahm ducks media He's a Trib guy I guess

New Jesse Jackson news today
Even though U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. says he has gotten a clean bill of health from federal prosecutors, sources tell the Chicago Sun-Times he's not yet in the clear. But a source in Blagojevich's camp said Thursday that representatives of Jackson approached Blagojevich's brother Robert, who is the governor's campaign-finance chairman, about the open seat. Jackson has identified himself as the "Senate Candidate 5" listed in Blagojevich's criminal complaint. http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/b...kson12.article |

This 'scandal, investigation etc.' is far more interesting to me simply because of the tapes. That and my favorite Rev potentially being involved. I just hope Blago doesn't plea and we get to hear them. If Bush was caught on tape discussing going to war to benefit Haliburton and Cheney I think I'd be equally interested.

He'd have to be. Fitz has his atty (the one on tape and paid for by the State) by the balls as he is complicit being involved in the three way deal for the seat. Now I guess he can claim atty client priveledge but he was paid by the people?

It has absolutely nothing to do about this scandal and everything to do with trying to censor a differing opinion. |

Not what I said or meant to imply. As above, as long as what's good for the goose, etc applies. Actually...on an edit..he went to keep his promise to Daddy |
Both parties and their supporters need to cease and desist with the pointing fingers and deflection.
Americans need to realize that both parties are extremely corrupt and they are the reason why this country is on the verge of collapse. When you have a senate seat for sale for a million bucks it is basically an admittance that Washington is a place where kickbacks are king and honesty is nil. |

I couldn't agree more. But when looking for change look outside of Chicago, Cook County or even Illinois for that matter sans Patrick Fitzgerald. |
Quote:
If he isn't Attorney General some day, I'll be surprised. |
Quote:
As for Blago, he was almost universally reviled here by members of both parties even BEFORE the latest scandal. His approval rating was at 13%. Leading Democrats in the state like Lisa Madigan and Jesse White had already publicly broken from him. The guy is a complete joke and everybody already knew it. Blago will probably be going to prison. So did our last governor. That is pretty remarkable, but it doesn't automatically mean that every politician that comes out of Chicago should be tainted with their nonsense. There have been at least a few that don't do things that way. |

On another note Durbin urged Obama to keep him here. I think he's here until at least the end of the Blago thing. Meanwhile I'm sure he is drving by Daley's house and friends of Da Mayor. If this was bowling, Fitz is in the ninth frame with a perfect game going. Makes you wonder what the previous US Attys in Chicago were doing? |
