Black Friday

Question, how many people are planning on cutting back their holiday shopping this year in light of the economic challenges of this year?

cowgirlintexas 11-27-2008 09:44 AM

This year won't be much different for me than it was last year..I don't make a whole lot and never have been able to take advantage of a Black Friday..

Not sure I would even if I could though..I hate crowds :o

geeker2 11-27-2008 02:46 PM

I am definitely cutting back on my shopping - but I am on my way to Vegas for 3 days and I don't intend to gamble any less :D

Mortimer 11-27-2008 04:10 PM

I had to cut back feeding my Christmas seals.

letswastemoney 11-27-2008 06:47 PM

I don't believe in the hypocrisy of Christmas

Worker dies at Long Island Wal-Mart after being trampled in Black Friday stampede

the store should have been shut down and treated as a crime scene. all those people should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I agree. The last thing anyone should have to concern themselves with when shopping is DEATH! This story is very troubling.

cowgirlintexas 11-28-2008 04:06 PM

They need to start handing out wrist bands like Best Buy does here.. They have to get them days ahead of time and then they only let people in by the # on their bands.

I think the what happened today is very sad and not the 1st time it's happened. Something does need to change about just letting people charge into stores like that...It's total mayhem!! :zz:

fpsoxfan 11-28-2008 05:22 PM

Really though, what kind of a ****ing idiot would line up outside a Walmart at 3 AM just to save $50 on a TV. A man was trampled to death? Are people that nuts? It should be renamed Douchebag Friday.

You're getting there,my good friend.

This whole thing that people are told that today is the day to shop and that they blindly follow this designated shopping day is dumb. They might as well jump off a cliff if someone tells them to. Sure I might pay $10 more for a microwave if I shop a week earlier, but at least I won't risk death.

herkhorse 11-28-2008 07:35 PM

The sad thing was that it was a worker that got killed, not a dumb-ass MalWort shopper.
