I just hope Stardom Bound goes to anyone other than the Sheikh.......or overseas interests.

I know Bruce Lunsford got 6 mllion for Madcap who was in foal to I think a Pulpit. What became of the foal and what do people think she'll bring at this sale? Pedigree Query shows no progeny records?

Obviously I'm missing something - I have no clue as to what I said that would make you reply with a . If it's because I said I'm nervous, well that's because I don't want SB to end up with Sheikh Mohammed.

We'll see more of the same -- RNA's, buy-outs, the Sheiks and Coolmore and sellers with distorted expectations.
So far from what I can tell, just from the bidding, there have been numerous RNA's. Eric |
19 of 31 posted so far have not sold or were outs . i see 5 NY breds in this sale . #7 $100,000 Henny Hughes weanling colt. #36 out . #112 Thunder Gulch weanling colt . #118 Closing Argument weanling filly . #172 Indian Charlie weanling colt .
|
They real low this sale?
|
Very simple.
Haves and have nots -- soft market, less buyers, but compounded by or irrelevant due to the unrealistic expectations of sellers. Eric |
I believe Stardom Bound went for $5.7 million - not sure, but IMO I'm sure she went to Godolphin. Who else could afford that # in this day and age?
That stinks - she'll be shipped to Dubai, pointed for the Dubai Oaks, miss the the KY Oaks and run all of about 4 or 5 times (if that) next year. I have no doubt that the Sheikh treats his horses wonderfully, but IMO, we are not going to see this filly's full potential come out. This has been a lousy day all around - even Da Bears looked like garbage. |

But seriously I believe they overpaid for her considering she has never run on the dirt and has a weak pedigree. |
Was the Baffert, Lukas , Zito menage trois involved in the bidding at all?

Just found out it was IEAH that got SB. On another board, people are very upset about this. I despise Dutrow, but maybe IEAH will send her to John Terranova who has Laragah? I doubt it, though. Also, it's the UAE Oaks, not Dubai Oaks, that I was referring to. |
Quote:
If SB goes to Dutrow, she'll stay on the East Coast - that'll be fun. |
Quote:
Why?? It's not like the Pepper's Pride connections had a chance. Who else was in the running here? |
Quote:
Also, a lot of people are assuming SB is just a poly freak - not quite sure why as her pedigree leans towards dirt, not turf. |

LOL True. Everyone seems to hate IEAH. I despise Dutrow, but even though one of the owners (Iavarone) lives in my hometown (in fact, I think he lives across the stree from me), I haven't exactly followed them. You'd know more than I would as to why IEAH inspires such strong feelings in people...... |
