Belmont 6th on Sunday

In all the BC hysteria, nobody has noticed the breeding on a firster in Belmont's 6th on closing day. I'll tell you one thing, she is already worth a lot more than her $550K yearling price.

blackthroatedwind 10-24-2008 10:31 PM

There's a very topical half in the race.

blackthroatedwind 10-24-2008 10:44 PM

It's been a long week. It's the first horse I remember the Chief training for Flying Zee. Judging by it's first race, though she did have a little trouble, and probably needed the race, I hope he gets a better one down the road.

KirisClown 10-24-2008 11:43 PM

awwwww Zenyatta's little half sister... thats so cute..

Whats up with that?? I tried earlier and thought it may have been something on my end.

Thanks much for uploading those, I was screaming like a little girl when FT rallied and missed the call, wanted to watch the replay and you were the only one that had put them up.

Sort of like Micheal Jordan's little brother in a junior high pick up game.

i still have all of yesterday in my dvr. if i was to record it on my camera, download to my computer, than i could upload it to youtube, right?

gotta go wake up my son, this is uncharted territory for me. :D

She broke very slowly, probably lost a few lengths, and made a wide move around the turn - pretty good turn of foot, too. I guess TT got tired because she couldn't maintain her momentum, but I think Shug must be very happy with her performance. She's a big, tall filly to boot. Of course, I don't know how good the race is, but it looks like she's got some ability. TT is definitely daddy's daughter as she acted up before being loaded in the gate.......

blackthroatedwind 10-26-2008 06:11 PM

The second finisher was tons the best.

For more information, tune into the next episode of Trips and Traps.....if it isn't already obvious.

I read the chart - it does look like she had a weird trip. What did you think of TT, Andy?

Also, I've been meaning to ask - where did you get your screen name from ? Thanks!

What'd you think of Bluegrass Princess' trip?

She wasn't winning, but it was a poorly timed ride, to say the least.

it's a Dead song.

Coach Pants 10-26-2008 06:59 PM

I thought it was a Steely Dan song.

She just might've won with the winner's trip.

I don't know. It was a poor ride.....but Garcia isn't exactly the terrific rider many people seem to think he is. Maragh, on the other hand, has come a long way, and rides pretty well overall.

I needed either the 1 or 9 in that race....and wasn't happy. I thought the winner had very little chance and was a massive underlay. What do I know.

Early summer, I thought that Garcia was the best rider in NY and Maragh was a bit better than ok. Presently, I feel that Maragh probably has more up side than any of these guys. He rides the draft tip better than anyone I've seen, and actually seems to have a brain. He's a perfect trip machine from the inside (especially on the turf).

blackthroatedwind 10-26-2008 07:48 PM

I just hope for the best.

LOL I'm well over the age of 16, but my sister was an honest to goodness Deadhead. She makes up for whatever inadequacies I have in that area....I think.

Agreed he certainly isn't riding to where he was at the Spa meet, his ride on Dyaforce this weekend was also weak I thought.

It was a curious decision. Maybe it wasn't Garcia's.

the_fat_man 10-27-2008 12:14 PM

Why would I want Dynaforce in that race? (Or look to build her up after it.) Was I to assume that she'd get it all her own way, in ridiculously slow fractions, with no chaser pressure? Plus, she's distance challenged. She tried to make a late run, when the race was over, on the rail and she got blocked. Big deal.

She was never going to be an Intercontinetal type winner..

Of course, comments on her chances in the race are appreciated BEFORE the actual race, but you know that. In fact, I think you gave out one opinion before the BC races, then whined about how Wait A While ran better than a horse who had nothing her own way and still won. Great input, thanks a lot.

But, the distance challenged thing is funny. Take a look at some PP's some time, it might help. there's more to this game then Fat Charts and bike riding, but again, you know that.

Your looking for a brawl today Hossy? Whats wrong no loving this weekend? lol
