Ray's Fans

I am trying to pick the 25 guys to keep for the ALDS.
I wind up leaving Rocco and Percival out.

11 pitchers
Shields, Kazmir, Garza, Sonnenstine, Price, Bradford, Howell, Hammel,
Miller, Wheeler, Balfour
2 Catchers
Navarro, (backup name escapes me)
6 infielders
Pena, Aki, Bartlett, Longoria, Aybar, Zorbist
6 outfielders
Gross, Upton, Crawford, Perez, Hiske, Floyd.

I wouldn't have a problem if they left Floyd off, although I doubt it will happen. Zorbist could be considered an outfielder as well.

Any thoughts?

I love Price but do they really need him in a short series?

opusone 10-01-2008 04:17 PM

With the exception of Shields our starters tend to have short outings.

Bigsmc 10-01-2008 05:47 PM

I heard Percival is off the ALDS playoff roster.

I would prefer they used batshit crazy Aussie, Grant Balfour as the closer instead of Wheeler. Wheeler scares me to death.

Good deal for tomorrow. Have a good time.
Tickets for Friday may be harder to get since the game is later. I think that they are supposed to release some on the internet . If I hear of anything, I'll let you know.

I'll be there working both games. I took a vacation day at the PD Thursday and 2 hours vacay on Friday.

nudge..nudge...

Hello Rays fans...Time for PLAYOFF baseball...should be fun

GBBob 10-02-2008 03:06 PM

I see Tampa putting a 6 spot up one of these innings

Bigsmc 10-02-2008 03:59 PM

I love that crazy SOB Balfour. The more he talks to himself (and others), the harder he throws.

Today before the game he was giving fist bumps to his team mates and the other players were flinching . It was was hilarious.

Good time today. Got to thank Frank Robinson for making me a better student.
It was kinda surreal before either team took the field and it was just us and the media. It got real quiet just before the Rays came on to the field.

Now Go Bulls and Kickin' !!

31lengths 10-07-2008 08:34 PM

Home field is nice but I think I would rather be playing the Angels......

opusone 10-08-2008 12:30 PM

I have a feeling this is going 7 games. Game 1 is huge for the Rays they need to put the pressure on.

Rudeboyelvis 10-08-2008 06:14 PM

Game 2 is going to be dicey unless Kaz get his sh!t together. I'd like to think they can take'em both at the Trop, take 1 of 3 at Fenway and close it out in Game 6.

I've got an extra ticket for Friday if anyone is interested - PM me

I'll be there. Come down and say hi if you get a chance.

Went over there today and they were painting the ALCS logos on the field.
Everyone (my co-workers) looked stressed. The players looked like they couldn't care less. I hope that's a good sign. For the players that is....

opusone 10-10-2008 08:40 AM

I scored in the last second chance ticket drawing sec 127. Have a great time tonight guys. See ya a Ferg's

Hope ya has a good time except for the outcome....that was dreadful.....

docicu3 10-11-2008 10:00 AM

Actually it was a great old school playoff baseball game. The Rays will be fine.
They are about the only team that seem to have the Red Sox number. You win tonight and they are okay.

Watching the Rays bullpen is like slowly dying...

Wheeler has been good except for the wild one. Dont know who they go to after him if they dont score.

Cannon Shell 10-12-2008 12:06 AM

Wheeler may throw 60 pitches. when was the last time a closer threw 60 pitches in a game?

docicu3 10-12-2008 12:37 AM

Sucks when the umps are the damn story....

Try not leaving 13 runners on base next time. Then bitch about the umpires.

SCUDSBROTHER 10-12-2008 01:19 AM

That throw from Drew reminded me of when he played in L.A.... Fat Albert could of made it home against that throw. Looked like a Juan Pierre throw. Maybe Drew was just tired of working extra time for no extra pay.

Leaving RISP is maddening.
Man....I just got home. I am beat. Tonight sucked.
The win was great but getting there just plain sucked.
Not to mention that I gotta work in the morning. :zz:

Rudeboyelvis 10-12-2008 02:26 AM

I believe it Dan.. Winning that game turns the Series into a battle royale. They'll go 7 now.

Cliff Floyd... I love me some Cliff Floyd.

I always thought I was a freak when I could go through a pack of gum in a half an our. Francona can go through a whole fkn tub of bubble gum (over 70 pieces) in a night.
