Umm.. We need a goat.

Many may have missed Chuck's late evening visit to ATR Friday night...

He let us know that Aldebutante enjoyed the visit of a stallmate earlier in the day. Unfortunately, the goat belonged to someone else at Trackside, so it couldn't remain as the filly's sidekick.

Instead, Chuck and Paula are actively recruiting the acquisition of a 'goat of our own' as a calming influence and distraction for Aldeb. (The goat should preferably be female because Paula says "boy goats smell"...)

Shepards on DT should PM Chuck immediately... Thank you.

Goats

I have seen goats really help calm and keep a horse from getting bored.

Paula is right, intact male goats do smell really bad!!!!Even after castration there is a pungent odor about them. I have alot of clients in NJ that have and breed pet goats, but even if I could get a free one I think the shipping fees would not be worth it. Try to get one local.

If you cannot, I could check to see if someone I know is shipping any horses to KY and try to get a goat on the van.

Thx! There's a goat farm right down the road from the Bluegrass Equine Center. They're going pick one up there...

Technically... only one of them is truly welcome. (She's tolerating the other one... ;) )

The goat isn't her goat its the stray goat that wondered in the other day so no worries

LaReason 10-03-2008 08:18 PM

The thought of Cinderella (the goat) chasing Scavs around the backside makes me giggle.

sumitas 10-22-2008 09:04 PM

Some of these goats will give you a good head butt , to the delight of the horses, when and where you least expect it so make sure their horns are trimmed  .

ddthetide 10-23-2008 10:56 AM

No goat, she has seemed to settle down and has grown out of some of her obnoxious behavior.
