Australia Tuesday Nights

I think I'll dabble tonight, best kept secret for high quality racing Tuesday nights.

Scurlogue Champ 09-23-2008 11:40 AM

Good idea, Tuesdays are great racing nights down under.

Watch out for anything running for Darley/Peter Snowden. They've been killing down there.

Like the races from Sandtown Lakeside, Thnx for the tip, I notice C Williams/ D Hayes are on the card tonite. That's a combo that has made me a few!

They are damn near unstoppable. With Hayes and Snowden in the mix, I feel sorry for Freedman and Waterhouse.

Old Bart Cummings slips one in on them every now and then though...

It was a profitable night, scored with Hayes/Williams right out of the gate at 18/1, then had no scores until Snowden/Brown at 3-1. Called it a night at 2:20AM or so, hope you played a few. Right on with these 2 trainer/jock combos.

Freedman nosing me at the Valley cost me a bit. I had the 10, he had the 9.

Tough beat but an otherwise good night.

Was that the one with Bossy riding, that would have been tough.

Yeah I would be surprised if the 3rd horse stays up, she certainly bothered Mine game, which doesn't help me as she can't move up from where she finished.

CSC you mean?, off the top Snowden is the primary guy for Sheik Mohammed. Godolphin doesn't have a stable that I know of, though they are usually represented in the Melbourne Cup...maybe Stormcat, Scar or Idol can chime in. Primarily it's the rouge colors of The Shiek.

my miss storm cat 10-01-2008 11:51 AM

I had to look cause I wasn't sure... far as I know CSC is right. :)

Scurlogue Champ 10-01-2008 03:27 PM

Snowden is it

Once Darley bought Woodlands, Hawkes went off with his sons to train and Snowden took the Darley job.

All the horses that used to run in the famous Cerise silks moved over to wearing the dark reds with the star and white sleeves.

Can someone tell me about The Toe?

I need to add him to the angels thread but I'm curious - since i don't know about him - was his record really... can't think of the proper word here.

7 year old gelding... was he always pretty much last? If so was there a reason to race him and how much did he race?

Poor guy, whoever he was.....
