More like loving.

The Smarty is a half to West Virginia, who was a NY bred with Pletcher I think

Indian Charlie 09-10-2008 01:57 PM

It's amazing how unfashionable Theatrical has become.

If he doesn't make that, he can spoil a Triple Crown bid in the grassy Breeders' Stakes.

Queen's Plate is the only Canadian stakes race I know. Isn't it one at Woodbine, then Fort Erie, and then back to woodbine?

The third leg is 1.5miles on the Woodbine turf. Same distances as the American Triple Crown.

If one has the patience, they can certainly be a bargain. His offspring seem to be a little late developing

herkhorse 09-10-2008 09:50 PM

Congrats, best of luck.

Ahhhh... I may have to "pony up" for a share of this one.

My all time favorite horse as the sire and one of my favorite NY Breds as a half. Don't laugh- before SJ came along in late November of '03, my choice to win the 2004 KY Derby was none other than West Virginia.

onebadbeast 09-11-2008 12:24 AM

Chuck (FYI)

I had the Johannesberg out of this mare(Wild Wonderful) and he was absolutely a handful when we started breaking him in fact we had to geld him before he ever galloped. So if this one has a nasty streak he comes by it honest.

Any of them got a big easy action? Like Tiznow, and this year's Arkansas Derby Winner.

they are all pretty nice movers...the filly is really light on her feet you don't even hear her hit the ground....both colts are just silly boys, bucking and farting. but they look great runningacross the paddocks.

I don't know if I would call him sweet....but he's a very nice horse who has matured a lot since he has been here. I like him.

One of my favorites also.
I was a huge doubter.
But I said I hoped all his offspring were happy losers.

Guess I will have to take that back.
