Here's a role call, meet-up information and running comment thread for Sunday's ALDEBUTANTE start at Belmont Park.. Aldeb ships in Thursday, and entries will be taken Friday... More info as the week progresses, but am curious who plans on attending at Elmont as I will be making arrangements for the group there..

pointman 09-09-2008 08:46 AM

I will be there along with pmac, my father and possibly some friends.

Is Anyone that Aldeb is familiar with going to be making the trip with her to Belmont. Maybe Cherie or Tony. Wouldn't want her to get lonely.:(

SuffolkGirl 09-09-2008 09:34 AM

I am planning to make my first trip to Belmont - it will be a debut for both me and Aldebutante. Not sure if I can rope anyone else into making the ride.

As an aside - the long range forecast calls for rain - will she run in the rain?

Pmac and I were wondering if we can see Aldeb on Friday and whether she will be jogging or schooling in the paddock.

Tom LaVoice 09-09-2008 09:43 PM

Sunday 9-14-08

My wife Nancy and I are looking forward to seeing everyone at Belmont on Sunday. I was able to be there at Arlington for Kick N Screamin's win and celebrate with many of Dee Tee Stable and go to dinner with Chuck and his wife. Sorry to hear Chuck won't be able to join us in NY but as I'm sure he knows someone will be sure to call and celebrate if our filly wins. Hopefully I will be able to bring us as good luck in New York. This will be our first visit to Belmont and looking forward to seeing our sophmore filly in her first start. We plan on taking the train to Belmont and need some direction as to where to meet folks and what the attire should be on raceday. Looking forward to seeing people that I met in Arlington and new Dee Tee Stable folks.

Nancy and Tom LaVoice

The 2 races under consideration are listed in the CND Book as the 2nd and 4th, but that means absolutely nothing. Either could end up as the 10th just as easily...

JAG21 09-10-2008 03:45 PM

steve,
christine and i will be at belmont sunday and possibly saturday. we are also trying to make arrangements for the rampillion race. CVG not an easy or cheap place to fly into from Philly. looking into alternative options now.
thanks,
john

I am curious to something, can you enter in both of those maidens and scratch out of one of them, or is there a rule against that?

Kasept 09-11-2008 09:58 AM

ChuckBlog reports that John Fahey says Aldebutante arrived well at Belmont this morning around 7am...

The Mig is also locked in to ride Aldeb whether she goes in the dirt or grass MSW sprint..

You can express preference to the racing office to go in which ever race seems more sure to run. If both races go, you have to commit to one. You cannot enter two races on the same day.

Thanks Steve.....Should be pretty nuts there in NY

mes5107 09-12-2008 08:46 AM

Small chance I may be able to make it. I'll be in S Nyack, NY for a wedding Saturday, and may take an alternate route home Sunday depending upon which race it is.

Danzig 09-12-2008 09:04 AM

looking forward to her run! i didn't manage to get in on the two youngsters, but will still be cheering her on. hope everyone enjoys the experience of being there in person...well, that's silly- of course you'll enjoy it! good luck to aldeb!!

ALDEBUTANTE RACE UPDATE...

Belmont racing office is close to drawing Sunday's card...

The 2yo filly MSW race they ended up using is the 6f on the turf...

There are 13 entered and it looks like it will run as the 2nd race...

More after the draw...

From the looks of weather in NY this weekend, it may end up off the turf.
