I liked watching Brady play.
shame...

I did not like watching the Patriots win,
so it was somewhat of a problem.

Carson Palmer..Part Deaux

philcski 09-07-2008 08:20 PM

I'm not a Pats fan, in fact my team is in the AFC East so they directly benefit, but this is not good at all for the league. He's the best player in the league and to see him go down one quarter into the season is a shame.

declansharbor 09-07-2008 08:26 PM

I took him in the first round (8th pick) of my money league, but that all takes a back seat to his well being. I hope he recovers and bounces back.

and Kev....Ape$hit would be an understatement. We brought it today.

Do you think that they will go with Cassel?
Or who's telephone is about to ring? Culpepper, Harrington, Simms, Testeverde? Should be a very interesting week in Foxboro.

Looks like simms. Yikes.

docicu3 09-07-2008 09:08 PM

Just imagine if Farve had decided to hold his cards a bit longer and it was HE whom New England contacted today......oh well it just makes the whole thing so much more interesting. Pats 1-0 after week 1....

the_fat_man 09-07-2008 09:08 PM

I have a suggestion; let's continue with the status quo:

bugging other teams' workouts;
flooding the field (with water) in the winter; etc.

anything to get an advantage.

I sometimes wonder what exactly it is that Kraft has on the NFL.

A giant shopping mall/stadium.
Which he built out of his own pockets.

Coach Pants 09-07-2008 09:44 PM

I'm actually cheering the injury. Remember they did cheat. Karma's a bitch.

It's nice to know your ignorance of factual information is not confined to horse racing but extends to football as well.

You must be smarter than I gave you credit for as you must have already finished your presentation for NYRA to correct their video deficiencies. After all only you know who won the 3rd yesterday.......

Brady injured.....no fuss. They still let'em line up 11 guys next week. You play who you have. The standings say 1-0 for the Patriots.....doesn't look like the Colts are going perfect this year does it.

Makes the AFC East wide-open now.

VOL JACK 09-07-2008 10:58 PM

I cant wait to see Moss screaming at Chrissy Simms. :D

2 Dollar Bill 09-08-2008 09:53 AM

Gee I wonder if Culpepper will UN-retire..... Oppps Brett allready did that ..never mind...

docicu3 09-08-2008 02:22 PM

It's official ......Brady has been placed on the injured list by the Patriots which makes him ineligible for the year. BB went out of his way to say that no outsider will be comming in behind Castle......(No Sims or Culpeper etc....)

The Pats had another QB on the roster who looked pretty decent but I think the media is selling this Castle kid a bit short quite yet. He is not Brady of course but with 4 years under BB every day he knows the system and if he couldn't play he wouldn't be the equivalent of the VP this year. One heart beat away from the helm means you can play if BB is the coach.....wasn't Brady ready when Drew went down? Don't be so sure the Pats are done quite yet...

The Pats are far from done. They're still a 12-4 squad, just not the 16-0 juggernaut we are used to seeing with Brady at the helm.

But those Buffalo Bills on the other hand... :D

I expected BIG things from them this year. Even more so now. As for the Patriots, they will have to fight tooth and nail to beat the teams that they were blowing out last year. No more going for it on 4th and 8 when they were up by 35. Now, they'll need it to actually win games.

Did they not actually win games last year?? It continues to amaze me how much glee there has been about this guys injury. Never has a success brought on such venom from the masses since a certain president got a hummer from a young woman in a stained blue dress:D These guys made some very poor decisions losing touch with the line between competitive advantage and cheating. They paid the price and moved on but to cheer the guys injury would be like cheering for a horses lethal injury because it gave you a long trifecta. There is class and then there is........(Maybe I should post this as a poll to see how deep the ugliness really is)

"Yahoo Brady is Out For The Season"......today's headline from the NY media.

I'm also an Eagles fan from my days in Philly, so yesterday was about as sweet as could be!!!

The NY media is desperate to make the Jets a winner. They still suck, even with Favre.

Too bad Farve didn't stay on the sidelines until this week...can you imagine!

Even if they split with the Jets and Bills (which honestly is a stretch, I'd expect 3-1 of those 4), the only games which they wouldn't be favored in are at the Chargers, at the Colts, and maybe home to the Steelers. The rest of the teams are dreadful.

at seattle will be a loss.

at jets will be a loss

at chargers will be a loss

at colts will be a loss

at bills will be a loss

You are right in that the schedule is pure cake. However, there are few offenses that revolve around their QB quite like the Pats revolve around brady. I think if you made a deal with Belichick right now and told him he can have no more or less than 10 wins, he would probably take it.

It will be interesting to see how bad they get.

So you are saying 11 wins. I was giving them a loss to Pittsburgh and a win at Seattle, plus a tossup win between the Bills, Jets, Chargers, Colts. I think they will still be fine...

and I'm a long suffering Bills fan.

You questioned Phils 12-4, but you just gave them only 5 losses (11-5)....that's splitting hairs don't you think?

Doc, I hope your not insinuating that I was full of 'glee' about what transpired yesterday. If so, your waaaay off base and couldn't be more wrong. When did I ever say that I was happy?? I'll have you know that I root for all Michigan players OUTSIDE of NFC East opponents to do well.

What I WAS saying, is that the Pats will not be pouring it on anybody this year like they did last. The teams that they blew out last year, will be entrenched in dog fights this year with them that will go down to the wire. What I meant by my previous post was, if and when they 'go for it' on 4th and long, it will be an attempt to score and win the game. Last year, they did it to widen the already large margin of victory. This year, no more going for touchdowns when winning by 30+ points. It's just not happening.

dalakhani 09-08-2008 03:57 PM

Actually, yes, splitting hairs. To tell you the truth, i hadnt looked at the schedule Phil posted before I questioned the 12-4. After going through it, i only found 5 games that i thought were a pretty good chance that they would lose. I figured you can throw in anothe shocker and you have 10-6 which is where i think they will be.

Again, having said all of that, I hadnt done the research when questioning philly's 12-4 statement and i would concede he is more likely to be right.

Yes, because there's plenty to base that on. I should probably pick a second team to root for in case you're right.

By the way, the New York Post doesn't count as the NY media. No one takes them seriously, and even so, it said "Yahoo!: Brady Out For Season," as in "That's what Yahoo! is reporting." All of the Brady/Patriots apologists can blow it out their asses. This is karma, just like the beautifully excruciating Super Bowl loss.
