7/27: Saratoga (Jim Dandy; C/O)

Yesterday was a very weird day in terms of capping versus wagering. I had no shortage of winners within the selections but personally didn't string them together properly. Were plenty of opportunities for those that spread to score including on both P4's, but 'Super Adds' Acai and Forever Together were both left off the P4's that brought back $1200 and $400 respectively. A frustrating day to be honest... Hope you did OK.

Carryovers at Spa and DMR with Left Coast pot at $1.5MM and certain to approach $4,000,000...!

Ditto for me. Except I went the opposite way. The three horses I keyed in race 3 for the pick-3 finished 1-2-3 for a 333.50 Tri. But did I play the Tri??
Nope.................... One of many dumb plays on the day.

pmacdaddy 07-27-2008 08:03 AM

Steve - Like your value plays in R1 and R2. Hoping for a BIG DD.

Good Luck!

MISTERGEE 07-27-2008 08:09 AM

Steve, glad to see you have my brothers horse Spirited Seacat picked as your sleeper in race 5. Lets hope we all score on that one. She will be trying.

jaripeo 07-27-2008 10:25 AM

Steve, I just wonder: There is two good horses for races 6 and 8 that you didnt concern. I think they had some chances.
Race 6.- War Echo 3/4 sister to MGSW Pyro.
Race 8.- Wicked Beauty, from a family of Cahmpions as a Dayjur, Pleasent Home, Tale of Ekati, and been working sharply for her second star.
I will included with part of your selections
.:)
Thank You.

Greetings from the Big's Family road trip somewhere in the vicinity of Santee, SC northbound on I-95. Mrs. Bigs is at the wheel, the internet signal is slow and the video is sketchy, but it beats driving. :D

Early P4:

3 - 8
4 - 1,3,6,8
5 - 1A,13,14

Nice to see the 1st winner out of one of my favorites, Read the Footnotes. Much the best, winner by 14 lengths.

Impressive run, nearly a track record.

Bigsmc 07-27-2008 01:16 PM

I am clueless. I go deep in the second and the chalk rolls. I single the chalk in the third and she forgets to get out of the gate and is no factor.

Blah.

Race 4

1/3,5,6,8 Exacta and reverse.

Pedro says, "South of the Border 32 miles".....

DogsUp 07-27-2008 01:20 PM

I had the 8 singled in the p4 as well, so your not alone. I did catch half the triple though, but outta the p4.

declansharbor 07-27-2008 01:34 PM

I bet Heretic (#7 to place in R4) and did a tri with 6 over the 3,5,7,8.

Best of luck to those playing today!!

I would hope not, as the P6 is well underway....

pointman 07-27-2008 03:45 PM

Trying a deep ticket split with pmac today as the last drives me nuts:

8- 2,5,9
9- 3,4,5,6
10- 3,4
11- 1,2,3,4,6,7,9

Good luck to all playing!

declansharbor 07-27-2008 04:38 PM

The exacta will pays for the Jim Dandy look enticing. Still not sure how Im going to play it, but at 6-1 currently, Mint Lane is very bettable.

Agree with you here, 6-1 is awfully generous.

I figure it will drop, since from here on out, few people will be reluctant to throw their money Pyro's way (6/5). If they are looking for value, they have to see ML's odds as the alternative.

I'm also surprised to see Da' Tara at 9/2. I thought he would drop to 3-1, even 5/2 second choice behind Pyro. I had it Pyro at even money, Da' tara at around 5/2-3/1, and ML at 7/2.

Starting to drop, but still worth a play IMO. $20 WP on Mint Lane. Good Luck!

declansharbor 07-27-2008 04:55 PM

I landed on Mint Lane to WP. $20 to win and $30 to place.
$5 tri 3,6 with 3,6 over 1,4,7 and a $10 tri 4 over 3,6.
Totaling a hundo...GL everybody!!

Off to the Taj for a little hold 'em around 8...Wish me 'good skill'...:D

pointman 07-27-2008 05:00 PM

Exactly what I did not want to happen, what was Coa thinking? Pyro couldn't have asked for a better setup and still couldn't get the job done.

No clue, I kept waiting for him take back and set second, and he kept pressing Da'tara and was toast, ridiculous ride!

I hear you, I would have 7 in the last in that sucker could get up, no excuse there. My big mistake was should have just 3,5 in the 8th and 3,4,6,7 in last, as usual I made the wrong choice when putting this one together.

Steve, nice call on Macho Again!

SCUDSBROTHER 07-27-2008 06:14 PM

You're wondering why Coa rode that way? To that point, was nightmare for anybody trying to make up ground on that track. This is why you don't want them to create artificial bias like they did with this track. Jocks are taken out of their game. I guess they sealed it last night. They should just let people have the "off" tracks. Instead, they create an artificially speed-favoring track, and you see Coa and Garcia doing the FRYBABY. On that track, they probably thought they couldn't allow each other any type of clear lead. These 2 animals are pretty much the same(other than Tara can go further if gets easy lead.) I was thinking one would be smart enough to scratch out, but they didn't.
