Very sad, he was a young man.
|
Found in his apartment today.. Received confirmation from Ashley Walker at CD.
RIP. Too sad. Had more friends in the industry than you could count. |

just horrible news, the only redeeming quality about Turf Paradise all winter.

Here's a recent video of Luke talking about Ellis Park http://www.14wfie.com/Global/story.a...63320&nav=3w6q |
One of my favorites.
Too too sad and too too young. |
Damn... I really enjoyed his calls... "They're racing" When I heard his voice I knew spring time was here and the Derby was soon to be..

So sorry to hear. Condolences to his friends and family. I was looking forward to visiting Ellis Park for the first time in just a couple of weeks. It won't quite be the same. Great voice, great delivery. RIP.
|
this is horrible... did not know him well, but used to spend time with him at the University of Arizona Symposium and have a few drinks & laughs. He was a very nice and funny guy who I enjoyed talking to a lot.. Being a former RTIP grad himself, he would embrace us students.
He will be missed. RIP Luke. |
Holy SH*T.... that is awful...
I loved Luke's calls, really thought he was the most underrated caller in the game... Rest in Peace big guy |
His announcing brought you right into the race from the break. His style was very classy and dignified and his voice will be missed.
|
Agree with many that he was the most underrated caller in the game. He will definitely be missed. R.I.P. Luke.
|
Wow...incredibly sad. RIP sir.
|
Don Erk of the Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office said the cause of death appeared natural, likely coronary related.
Kruytbosch, 45, had told friends during Sunday's races at Ellis Park that he wasn't feeling well. http://www.courierpress.com/news/200...uytbosch-dies/ |
Very, very sad news.
|
That's awful news. rip.
|
What an absolute shame! A distinctive baritone, clear and concise.
RIP |
Wow. Terrible news. RIP

Very Sad News
He called the race for my first win as an owner :(
RIP Luke |
Very sad and way too young, one of my favorite racecallers. He will be missed.
|
It's hard to find a dead-nuts accurate race caller, and he was always very accurate. I'm dumbfounded and shocked at his way too early death. Condolences to all who knew him.
|
:( Very, very sad day. RIP Luke. Condolenses to his family and friends. :(
I love the Kentucky Downs meet, and will sorely miss hearing, "Down the dip and around the bend they go....". I really can't say anymore. :( |
Luke was a good friend of mine for more than 20 years. He was a great guy, always upbeat, loved his job. Whenever I won a race or even occasionally when they were loading a horse of mine in the gate he would always say something that only he and I knew the meaning of and would have a laugh at afterwards. He always would tell me how great Ellis Park was and I used to tease him that the only reason that he liked it was it was always 100 degrees and gave him an excuse to drink more beer. The guy was just a great person. I already miss him.
|
Luke was a very under-rated race caller. He had a very good sense of how the race was about unfold, like alwaays picking up Bo-rail getting thru on the fence.
We will really miss him in Sept at Ky Downs. I remember him telling the story about the little girl that always sit down when he said '..... set down for the stretch drive.' LOL. RIP big man. |
|
i am in shock. couldn't believe it when i saw the thread title--still can't believe it.
to his friends and family, my condolences. he was a one of a kind caller, very distinctive voice. i always enjoyed listening to him. |
A terrible loss for racing. He was a solid and reliable caller who never tried to be gimmicky with his calls.
|
Awful news.......
Wow very sad news, a big loss for racing. Condolences to his family and friends. Still shocking, was just enjoying his calls on TVG yesterday, very, very sad.:(
RIP Luke, your voice will be missed. |
i'm in total shock. his signature sound was one of the real pleasures of this game for me. when i first found out that he was a relatively young guy, i remember thinking about how cool it was that he would be calling races for a long long time. how wrong i was. man he will be missed. i can't imagine a CD race without his calling out "and around the turn they go".
he had a terrific consistent and somewhat melodic cadence that really made each race seem exciting. really sad about this. RIP Luke K. |
Sad news, way too young.
