I am all about that. We tailgate at Soldier Field in the middle of December. Matter of fact, if you remember about two years ago when Atlanta and Vick came to town for a Sunday night game, we were at that game, NEGATIVE 17 with Wind Chill. And I only had a sweatshirt on, you would walk up the stairs and your beer would be frozen. It was really awesome......

I am going to this Hawks game if I can get tickets. Just get all crunk on NYE in WrigleyVille and get a hotel and wake up and get crunk again at a hockey game......

I thought the Hawks are suppose to be good this year, I know they had some good young talent, or at least the media thought so

SentToStud 07-07-2008 02:57 PM

Glad to se the New Year's game in Chicago. Something for Bears fans to watch the week after their season ends.

Does it really matter how good or bad the hawks are? You aren't going to see a hockey game, you are just going to drown your sorrows from a 3-13 bears season. You will be able to go shirtless and make us all proud! Have you ever watched a full hockey game?

TommyBoy-I'm a season ticket holder for the Blackhawks. I'll see to it you get all the fresh ice shavings you want when they play this game at that dump.

3-13 please....we are going to smoke the packers and the great Aaron Rodgers this year...I can care less about 3-13 as long as we SWEEP the Packers. We will probably be 8-8 this year, and it will be the defense that gets all the wins. I would be surprised if we average 100 yards TOTAL for a game. That part, will defintely be frustrating this year

You guys might not have a winning season EVER AGAIN. Favre carried you guys for the last 20 years ;)

I wouldn't want to be the shining star in the stands, I am so pale that the sun reflects off me :)

No to the full hockey game, I don't understand it.

Scav 07-07-2008 03:37 PM

Definitely getting a Hawks jersey now for this game. It has been said that the Blackhawks is the BEST LOGO in SPORTS

You are right, I am sure the bears will be much better than the Packers and we will never have a winning season.
Bears WR- booker, hester (not a real WR, great PR and KR); Rashied Davis Marcus Monk, Brandon Loyd
Bears RB- Matt Forte, Adrian Peterson, Garret Wolfe
Bears QB- Rexy, Orton, Caleb Hanie and the great JT O' sullivan

Book your flight to the Superbowl

I hate the Blackhawks, and don't particularly feel like spending hundreds of dollars to get tickets to this game, but it's officially on my list of things to try to do, getting them at face value. It'd be plenty worth it to see an outdoor game and to see the Hawks get their asses kicked.

I doubt they will be that expensive, it is going to be COLD that day, like zero plus wind chill, and that is RIGHT next to the lake, not as close at Soldier Field, but pretty damn close, serious coldness right there.

This might be the smartest thing you have said yet. It is a great logo, my favorite is the old Hartford Whalers logo though

Scav 07-07-2008 03:42 PM

How do you hate the Hawks, I know zero about hockey but I am from Chicago, thus I love all Chicago teams, except for the ones that has multiple teams per sport, then you get to choose. this is how it works.

It is just like how I can't fathom how anyone that grew up in Chicago is a Packer fan, I just don't understand it......

Well, to be perfectly honest, I hate the Red Wings too. The only reason I even started liking hockey in the first place when I was younger was because I liked watching the Nordiques before they moved to Denver, and just kept up with them. I've only ever seen them play the Hawks in person, and Hawks fans are basically grade-A assholes, so I hate the Blackhawks. I just hate Detroit less.

They could probably sell 75,000 seats to Red Wings fans alone.

you must have seen the flyers play also.
i started following hockey in the early 80's when the mighty islanders made their run of 4 in a row, almost 5. i've followed the devils too, especially after martin brodeur arrived.
i was at both caps-islander games when the islanders took the caps out of the playoffs in washington 2 years in a row. one of those was the 4 1/2 OT game. billy smith in goal crushed the caps both years.
since the strike and the new tv contract i rarely watch or follow.

Scav,

Tickets will be pricey and hard to get. It was easier for me to get Stanley Cup Final tickets this year than it was the Icebowl agaist the Sabres. It was a Sabre home game which was part of the reason, but because it is such an "event", tickets were brutal.

The year was 1987, but Billy Smith was not in the nets in that game. I'm kind of surprised Scav hadn't already corrected this trivial mistake.
