Las Vegas ?

I am planning a trip for early next year, i have never been there, and really dont know anything about the place, i have done my research on the internet but i want to hear from ppl who have been. I dont have any clue how much cash i should bring for a week, that is the main thing i am worried about, what to bring ? when i go on vacation or go to gamble i bring a set ammount, if i lose that, its over... no credit cards and stuff like that. What should i do there, where should i consider staying ? anything will help
thanks joe

I went there on a business trip a year and a half ago.. Stayed at the venetian (very beautiful and not outrageously priced).

Got there with $100 in my pocket and left with $800.

(finished 3rd in a hold em' tourney at the venetian... $115 buy in - toughest tourney i've ever been in (not that ive been in a ton))

I am NOT a LIAR

I've got people to back me up ask John Perrotta if you don't believe me! He was there in Vegas.

Also in the first two tourney's i've ever played in (at a casino) in Tucson, AZ at the Indian casino... the 1st one I played in I chopped w/ 5 others out of a total of 100 players.

The second time I played I outright won the whole damn thing out of 90 players. Was piss drunk by the end and won like 5 straight head to heads with the last guy to win it all. It was the day I gradumacated from college.

I've played in 6 casino tourney's and was at the final table 5 times, with a win, chop, 3rd, 5th and 7th.

I am not that good with cash games.

If ya dont believe me about that PM Tiznowthegreat, he was there with me.

I consider myself a very lucky poker player who knows when to fold.

I consider myself a handicapped horse handicapper.

Antitrust32 07-01-2008 03:16 PM

Here's my game Mortimer, or should I call you, Morty.

First I'm a girl so people assume I dont know my right hand from left so I go with it.

Second, I always drink when playing so then my face is red for every hand not just the good ones!

Third in the beginning I'll play a crappy hand and lose on purpose (but not too many chips) so people think I'm clueless.

THEN.. I only play two face cards, pocket pairs or suited connectors. When I think someone has a better hand, I fold.. I dont need to chase pots to just to see the outcome.. dont get involved in the pissing match.

And I always go with my gut feeling.. dont second guess it. I'm lucky to have a good (well maybe a bit fat) gut.

When its down to 2-3 players left, if you get a face card, you play your hand (at least see the flop/turn). The first touney I won was with a King high.

Mortimer 07-01-2008 03:17 PM

Seriously ,Uncly, memorize this so you will be ready for me: (It shows lowest to highest card. In other words the card below beats the card above. It gives you the very rudiment of the game.)

This may help,too:

100 dollars

( In the above case the monetary unit below is higher than the one above....and yer so forth.)

Antitrust32 07-01-2008 03:19 PM

well I just gave you the insights to my game so you BETTER beat me!

Dahling....I can already tell it would be of absolutely no value to you if you did know your right hand from your left hand.

Kiss-Kiss....Hug-Hug.
