i would like to know some of your all time favorite horse related movies or shows....anything is fine, from mr. ed to seabiquit!

old school question... does anyone remember a tv show called the "american horseman"?
it was on in the late 60's or 70's. sunday mornings about 6:00am...

mine is the fresh prince of bel air... when they go to the race track, and carltons favorite horse is going to be put down, so they buy it and bring it home, uncle phil finds it in the living room and gets very upset.

The odd couple when Oscar is getting tips from a midget groom that is too short to be a jockey is an absolute classic. That is the episode where my signature came from.

McHale's Navy PT 109 (1964) when their horse is smuggled into the track under Capt. Leadbottom's nose.

The race horse on the boat is classic!!

Tim Conway was about as funny a dufus as TV ever had....

I think I watched Phar Lap at least once a week as a kid. Man From Snowy River was a favorite too. :)

I also read every single Saddle Club book, which I saw they made into an awful TV show.

The stupidest, but funny if you like stupid movies, was Hot to Trot.
Some funny lines and visuals in that one, Dabney Coleman, Bob Goldthwait.

Also liked Symapatico, Nick Nolte, Jeff Bridges, been showing that on mystery channel or one of those lately.

And Lucky Number Slevin, not mainly about horse racing but starts out with a horse race.

Mortimer 07-01-2008 12:13 PM

That it?

Any more bizarre nominations?

TheSpyder 07-01-2008 12:18 PM

Does Barney count?

Mortimer 07-01-2008 12:19 PM

Just posting anything counts.

Jesus.

geeker2 07-01-2008 12:40 PM

Morte- is porn allowed on this thread?

If so, I submit that famous porno movie "Blazing Zippers" :tro:

Mortimer 07-01-2008 12:42 PM

Oh boy.

Actually...it's a fine thread for smut.

Yeah, I really liked it, not a usual Bruce Willis fan but he was good in that one, loved the twists and turns.

I don't think SeaBisquit has been mentioned, with Toby Maguire, that one was good.

I loved Phar Lap, but it was always so sad in the end, he always dies in that gut wrenching scene.
