RUMOR: IEAH and Dutrow are no more. (Update: False)

Big Brown to Mott.

Just a rumor.

Kasept 06-27-2008 10:15 AM

It is an incorrect rumor based on this morning's Dutrow press briefing.

Here you go. Dutrow says, "Everything's beautiful."

Jesus, I hope he doesn't hurt himself patting himself on the back for what a wonderful job he did with Big Brown.

GBBob 06-27-2008 12:56 PM

In the June 27 editions of the New York Post, Iavarone aired his displeasure about Dutrow’s clenbuterol overage, and having to find out through media reports. Well...Isn't that the pot callling the kettle black. Gotta' love the use of the media to conduct your business...jesus

"We had serious thoughts of taking all the horses out of the barn," Iavarone told the New York Post. "But IEAH has won over 400 races since its inception and Rick has won over 200 of them. Plus, we have only had one positive test in our career, A One Rocket with trainer Greg Martin in 2003. In other words, "We should have used Rick instead of Greg Martin and we wouldn't have got caught"

"We never had a positive with Rick as our trainer." See above:rolleyes:

Dutrow and IEAH are a perfect match. Why would Iavarone be upset that on the heels of saying all IEAH stock would run off medication Dutrow gets popped with a positive. Lets just hope when the medication rules are put into place they test for whatever is at the tip of Mr Dutrow's magic wand. Even better Iavarone should remove the horses, then everyone would see how important Dutrow is to that outfit. If I were IEAH I would drive Rick Dutrow around in a bulletproof Mercedes like the Pope, and hire around the clock security.

parsixfarms 06-27-2008 02:03 PM

At the end of the day, Dutrow's recent appeal of the KY positive says more about him than anything else. He says, "I take responsibility" and yet appeals because he can, because he "has horses to take care of." An honorable man (I recall Pat Day doing this when he was suspended in KY a few years back) accepting responsibility would take his days and be thankful that he didn't receive more. Apparently, Dutrow does not fall into this category.

Should I assume from this thread that it's now a board policy that we can post any rumors we wish as long as at some point down the road we mention that it's false?

I didn't believe Dutrow actually called Contessa a J.O. until is read it in the DRF. Sounds like these boys don't like each other. ::eek:

He apparently forgets about Suave Queen. Off two years, she drops from $65,000 (in 2006 debut at Belmont) to $20,000 at Saratoga; wins by 5 lengths and then is vanned off.

Did they have to put that horse down? I believe Dutrow was talking about catastrophic injuries where the horse has to be euthanized.

With as many horses as he has, if it is true that he has only had one horse break down in the afternoon in the last 7 years, that is an excellent record. He's probably run a few thousand horses in the last 7 years.

Not sure if Suave Queen was put down, but I was the track that day, and it did not look good when she was pulled up on the clubhouse turn. According to her PPs, she has never raced again.

More: thankfully, she was not put down. According to Breeders' Cup site, she produced a foal this spring by Flower Alley.
