never heard that one myself..

i have a suspicion that Plan might so over for the 3yo race..

EDIT - i have to laugh at this from the racingpost results today

Fourth behind Lisvale in a 1m Listed event here last month, PLAN turned around the form with that rival with a hard earned yet ultimately decisive win.
Driven along in fourth place before the straight, the winner kept responding for pressure fromover two furlongs out and got on top well inside the final furlong, keeping on well to the line.
No definite plans emerged after the race, although Aidan O'Brien mentioned the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes over 1m2f at Arlington next month as a race thatwill be considered. "He had to have a break after running in the 2,000 Guineas and was only ready to start off when he ran here last time. He's only starting to come to himself ," he said.

The Group One Deutschland Preis over 2400m at Dusseldorf on Sunday was won in emphatic style by last year's German Derby winner Adlerflug (In The Wings - Aiyana, by Last Tycoon), who scored by seven lengths from the globetrotting multiple Group One winner Quijano. Group Two winner It's Gino was a further six lengths adrift in third.
Trained by Jens Hirschberger, the Gestut Schelenderhahn homebred won a Listed race last May before winning the Group One Deutsches Derby. He has been winless in three starts since.

Mount Nelson's in along with Archipenko. That's two legit runners.

Nelson might go on Saturday.

jwkniska 07-28-2008 04:29 PM

add in french based Spirit One, that almost beat Duke of Marmalade last April. If everything holds, this will be a great race.

Can't wait.

edit - ooops, was thinking of the Criterium International. He was 2nd in that one (Yellowstone 3rd - to Mount Nelson).

Spirit One isnt that big a deal, very much exposed really
http://www.arlingtonpark.com/news/ar...y-july-28-2008

I think that is terrible writing saying that he gave the Duke a scare in the Ganay, he came 4th.. if he gave him a scare, what did Saddex do to him?

Hahahaha I was just gonna say he was in that last race with Saddex, right?

maybe we can ask him where the hell Saddex is!

brianwspencer 07-29-2008 11:08 PM

Pretty sure I'm not missing anyone, but the list I've got of probables so far is:

Million: Archipenko, Mount Nelson, Spirit One, and Sudan might show up (if you want to count him as a Euro....most of his career)

Bev D: Cicerole & Toque De Queda

Sec: Plan & Winchester

brockguy 08-04-2008 05:26 PM

Blue Square have relased odds on the Million.. It'll be interested to see how the locals bet this race. It certainly wont be as below!

ARLINGTON MILLION
9-4 Archipenko, 5-2 Mount Nelson, 6 Einstein, 9 Cloudy's Knight, 10 Stream Cat, 12 Spirit One, Sudan, 14 Out Of Control, 16 Silverfoot, 25 Cosmonaut.

Oh wow. I bet Archipenko is pretty close....probably will see a 2-1 morning line here. Nelson is probably pretty close too, maybe 3-1.

I imagine Cloudy's Knight will be alot closer to 25-1 than 10-1, and I'm guessing that Out of Control goes off at a shorter price than Stream Cat, unless that guy becomes the wiseguy horse.

And Silverfoot 16-1?! Seriously? That horse needs to make up 5 lengths on the next slowest horse in here........just to avoid finishing last!

I don't know, they might ignore Archipenko and focus on Einstein and Stream Cat, at least,I hope so

I'd be thrilled too.

I think I'm going to make Stream Cat my pick, but if the odds float up on Archipenko, that could work out well for me.

You get to do the write up for the Million?

If you are seriously taking Stream Cat over Archipenko, remind me to crack you when I see you Saturday.

jwkniska 08-06-2008 11:31 AM

if Archipenko's even at 90% for it, I'll take anything even $$ or better on him. I'm hoping people overlook him and pound Einstein at the windows. Einstein's a very good US horse.... but the last time I looked, the US grass horses were a level or 2 below the best in Europe.

Stream Cat could be the one US horse to get into the tri though.

I'm also hoping they pound Tizdejavu in the Secretariat..... I'll take Plan bigtime in it.

I can't stand Tizdejavu, can't stand him, but I will say that if there is no speed in this race, which I am not sure if there is, he will probably be lone speed again and win for fun. Looking forward to the PP's tonight....

Hi,

I live in Bloomington, IL and am thinking of driving up for the Million. It will be last minute decision, 13 y.o. son might be able to go, my brother in Wheaton might go or I come solo. Does Million Day sell out? Any chance I can get a reserved seat the day of the race? If you get a GA ticket, where can you watch the race? I get up there with my wife and kids a few times a year and we watch from the seats near the finish line so the kids can try to get the goggles. Any info you can provide will help. Thanks.

check your PM's... I just sent you one with all the info.

Scav 08-06-2008 01:20 PM

Archipenko been installed the 2/1 favorite and drew the 1 hole. I can't remember the rest but I think Stream Cat got the 2, Einstein got the 6, 8 total runners.

Secretariat is bootleg, Tizwhatever is 6/5 ML, Beverly D looks ok, DOA drew the rail and Precious Kitten the 3 (I think)

Borntorun 08-06-2008 01:40 PM

Thanks!!
