Any word on Pays to Dream, who was vanned off?

jcs11204 06-07-2008 09:19 PM

benny the bull.... hmm... if he was chasing any quality he does not get up. he def. needed this race back, he just outclassed man of danger late... he really had no right to win today, and i was very upset because i singled man of danger in 2 pick 3's, i thought he could wire them, and he just quit late

794 must be your lucky number, because this your best post so far.

Couldnt agree more, the truest sign of class displayed today. I wouldnt have took 20-1 on him at the sixteenth pole.

I might add a honorable mention to the 9 yr old, Better Talk Now. Very unlucky today and nary a mention. The old man can't buy respect.

i think its clear he is def. over the top. retire him, i have always loved him, but how many no shows in a row have to happen, as for the rabbit, he sets things up for stalkers, more then closer, if stalingrad and strike the deal had any class, either one of them could have had first jump and possibly win

Dominguez should have had to take a breathalyzer test after that ride.

I was shocked at how well BTN ran. I spent the whole day trying to talk my friend at our table off him.
I really think he gets up there if Ramon dont run him up his rabbits ass.
Tough beat for my pal as he had 300 to win and a 100 double from J be K.

CSC 06-07-2008 09:52 PM

I don't know it looked awfully reminescent to his win in The Manhatten last yr, we will never know now. But in that race he(Better Talk Now) never looked the winner either until they crossed the finish line. He's not an easy horse to ride but his record speaks for itself.

im going to watch the replay, i just did not see it, maybe i was wrong, we had 8,9,10,11 in the pick 3 and 4, so i was just watching and hoping we would beat out of control

I'm going to give Ramon a pass on this race, did he check him late yes...but BTN is and always was a horse that always makes you sweat abit and never was an easy horse to ride, he is a horse that has one run and Ramon more often than not times it correctly on this horse. When he retires I'm sure gonna miss him, never a dull race seeing him with that patented late run.

so you dont think he has lost a step ? what are legit goals this year ? a few 2 or 3's in stakes races ?

Obviously based on his 2008 record it looks like he has.

In my opinion the FG race was probably too short for him, and the Nad El Sheba race was top notch quality. Today I thought he had a legitimate chance, even if he perhaps has lost a step. At 9 it would be hard to blame him. I also believe Motion will do right by this horse, if he's done he will do the right thing.

Good call on that horse. Wasn't one of my top choices but I used him - needed Denis for the PK4, though.

he did run faster then benny the bull, and the track did not change, from the 1st to the 6th.
he also finished very very strong.

I was rooting for Big Brown but when I saw he was done I was hoping Denis could get up.

How do you know the track didn't change? Not that I'm saying it did - once again - I'm too tired to think about it right now. I do know, though, is that the way Benny closed at the end of his race was much more impressive.

wowowowow.......
benny did not close.... he, hmmm i am drawing a blank on the word... he clunked up, he beat classless over matched horse's... like i said in another thread, benny needed the race today and had no right winning, he won on heart and class alone. if there was a horse with any class on the front end, benny does not get close today, anyone but man of danger...

The Bid 06-07-2008 11:17 PM

They both ran around 105 (sorry). Benny gets a pass because hes coming off the Dubai trip and it was 200 degrees when his race went off.

once he got going he was motoring in the stretch. i still don't know what class is so i can't really comment on that.

i disagree, strongly... benny is great, wonderful horse... but he won today because the group he faced was very weak, he looked to be in a ton of trouble, and then MAN OF DANGER decides to just stop.

hockey2315 06-07-2008 11:25 PM

just watch the race again. . . I don't even know what we're arguing about at this point. . .
