Big Brown's going Down!

I have this feeling someone will show up for the first time today. Is anyone else having this feeling?

Not gonna happen...... Could do backflips and still win this race.....

Travis Stone 06-07-2008 05:02 PM

A lot of crazy stuff will need to happen if Big Brown were to lose. But, this is horse racing, and crazy stuff does and can happen. We'll see.

Quiet Chris 06-07-2008 05:04 PM

No way he loses. The sport needs a TC winning BB against HOY Curlin. If horse racing can't make that happen then the sport should just pack it in.

When he faces Curlin, then he will get his beating and retire.

what kind of logic leads you to conclude that the sport needs to 'pack it in' if big brown loses today? the sport is bigger than any one horse.

granted, big brown on paper looks the best. but oh, how many times i've seen a horse who dominated in the first two go down at belmont. big brown should win. i hope personally he does not. and i bet you belmont/nyra hopes so too! why?!? you think they'll be packing in 120k + next year if the tc gets won today? thrill is in the chase, not the winning.
besides, i think big brown would be an undeserving winner. granted, that won't make him lose. but no way he's on, let alone close, to the same level as the last four tc winners.

this is the same guy that was looking forward to boxing BB and CD in the exacta...

AeWingnut 06-07-2008 05:26 PM

on a side note... is it raining or is Dutrow sweating up more than BB

well you were right. i was kind of tired of all the posts proclaiming big brown a "lock" i'm glad you posted this

Danzig 06-07-2008 05:37 PM

guess dutrow shoulda given him his winstrol in mid may.

SCUDSBROTHER 06-07-2008 05:39 PM

Myself and Danzig were right on about this race being totally different than the rest of the T.C. RACES. People ignore history every time. This isn't the other 2 legs. I'M A LOSER LIKE EVERYONE ELSE (all I bet was the 2nd n' 3rd place horses in the double.) Couldn't get the Tara horse. Good job by Zito. Same old thing. Fresh Zito with a distance sire. BROWN WAS RANK EARLY TODAY. Wasn't himself from 50 feet out of the gate.

Quiet Chris 06-07-2008 05:44 PM

I thought he would win but I haven't been this happy watching a horse lose in my life. Dutrow is an idiot with no respect for the sport.

Danzig 06-07-2008 05:45 PM

scuds, i swear i don't know how many times i've been saying it's not a sure thing. been here before, done all this before.

big brown was no bid, no riva ridge, no canonero, swale, silver charm. and they came so close as well. the gods giveth, and the gods taketh away. i have never been so relieved about a horse race ever. big brown was a pretender, a wannabe, who was lucky more than good. well, his luck ran out.

so, dutrow now gets to stfu. guaranteed a win. what a blowhard.

Cannon Shell 06-07-2008 05:45 PM

The race was a disgrace, Big Brown obviously has some issue, Zito deserves credit for running, the guy always shows up.

zito is in the hof for dammed good reason, altho personally i felt anak had the better shot of the two. good for lapenta as well.

now what ticks me off will be the clamor for change to the tc, to make it easy. eff that!!

cowgirlintexas 06-07-2008 05:47 PM

Damn.. Gotta find a different avatar :D

was it the foot? i wouldn't be surprised if something showed up in there in the next few days, ala bids abcess deep in his foot post-belmont.

Cannon Shell 06-07-2008 05:49 PM

Packer called the shot.

This makes up for Zito and Lapenta losing their 2 year old champion to injury.

cowgirlintexas 06-07-2008 05:51 PM

Poor Kent.. to come close twice now...:(

Nothing in racing is certain. Even how much BB would have beat CD like you said today.

I still think Kent has something to do with Big Brown not wanting to run today. The conspiricy will come out in the next few days. Yea thats why Dutrow was sweating so much.

Im not exactly sure who one would
pick, but I doubt it was the winner.

If anyone on the board had the winner,
please stand up.

See now they are all talking about running without steroids, nobody will take their horses off them again until its the law!

hockey2315 06-07-2008 05:53 PM

Anyone else think the pay-offs were a little low?

i didn't like Big Brown and had a feeling that something like this would happen.
I played all kinds of tickets with him off the board. NONE of them with D'tara on top.

if they're all off them, the field is once again level. eight belles clean came close to beating big brown. was that his edge, the bonds shots? would he have been a five time winner before today had he been clean til now? i'd imagine he wouldn't have been chasing the crown had he not gotten whatever it is rick was giving him.

his second lifetime win, and first in a stakes. it was a 'commendable' performance!!! :D

i wonder if casino drive coulda won it after all? he sure wouldn't have finished last!!!

Cannon Shell 06-07-2008 06:00 PM

Saying that he ran this poorly because he missed a shot of winstrol is far beyond stupid but I'm sure many will say that.
