Casino Drive has stone bruise, but on pace to start

Looks like he won't be running.

SuffolkGirl 06-06-2008 09:22 AM

can you elaborate?

Injury Could Keep Casino Drive Out Of Belmont
Quote:

Posted: 10:12 AM ET

Casino Drive (Mineshaft), the horse pegged most likely to stymie Big Brown's Triple Crown bid, may be forced to miss Saturday's GI Belmont S. The chestnut colt did not go to the track Friday morning because connections were concerned with a potential injury to his left hind leg. "We were not happy with the way his hind leg was moving," Nobutaka Tada said. "That's the reason he didn't go to the track." The problem has not yet been diagnosed, and it has not yet been determined if the three-year-old will be able to run in the Belmont. "We will see how he is [Saturday]," Tada said. "I can't say anything more right now."

WOW... that is some bit of news...thanks for sharing..

Sightseek 06-06-2008 09:27 AM

All of the reports on his works haven't been very positive and not just because of the slow time. What a shame if he is injured and has to scratch.

Rudeboyelvis 06-06-2008 09:27 AM

May be absolutely nothing - a far cry from a "likely" scratch

miraja2 06-06-2008 09:29 AM

I hope he still runs, but if he doesn't, I'll really have to laugh at the fact that the 419,238 threads about this horse's chances in the race were even more pointless than most of us thought previously.

Is it possible that this might cause some to revisit the idea of waiting to see who is actually competing in a race before they decide on their bets? Sadly, I suspect the answer is "no."

Scav 06-06-2008 09:33 AM

It is because PG mushed the hell out of him

kgar311 06-06-2008 09:33 AM

They already have their excuse lined up when BB blows his doors off.

If they don't go to the track the day before a 12f race they are likely scratch. The Japanese are very cautious. If there wasn't a really good horse in there than they might considering running him, but he probably couldn't beat Big Brown if he was 100%

These aren't americans. They don't make up excuses for everything.

slotdirt 06-06-2008 09:35 AM

There has to be zero chance this horse runs tomorrow. That kind of blows.

I DID NOT MEAN ITS A JOKE...the poster about the excuses is a joke... casino drive has 2 career races, and is really not expected to win, why would there be a excuse if he losses ? thats what i was referring to .....

Scav 06-06-2008 09:47 AM

MUSH.

Please tell me you like Gio Ponti today......

So what your telling me is that if CD puts in a dull effort, when they go and talk to the trainer and owner they will make NO reference to the leg????

The Japanese culture isn't an excuse making culture. If you don't know that go and spend some time in Japan. If you don't think the american culture is an excuse making culture you must not live in america. There is an excuse for everything. People take out big mortgages they can't afford and it is not their fault it is the banks fault. People get in accidents while talking on cellphones and it is the cellphone companies fault. American society is the society of excuses.

They will make absolutely NO reference to the leg. They will only run him if he the leg is not an problem. They don't make excuses. They will congratulate the winner and say they weren't best that day.

Sightseek 06-06-2008 09:56 AM

This guy has to be CANADIAN. This is the exact excuses that the Canadians use on Full Tilt when you start making fun of them for being canadian :)

The Indomitable DrugS 06-06-2008 09:56 AM

Ok, we get it, they don't make excuses.

Whoever drafted Quiet Chris deserves the fantasy GM of the year award.

Sorry I don't live in a "america is right about everything" world. That is why we get involved in stupid wars because the idiots in this country believe anything you tell them and there is no accountability for anything.

Americans make excuses for everything. It is the fattest society in the world and americans blame restaurants for putting too much fat in the food. Hilarious. And smokers sue tobacco companies because they couldn't figure out smoking is bad for you.

Why don't we sue the track if we lose money? It is their fault for allowing us to gamble. :)

How do you know I am not a FAT american who blames restaurants for putting too much fat in my food. I do root very hard for Harlem Rocker and Melnyk horses. :)

The Indomitable DrugS 06-06-2008 09:59 AM

PG '85 better unleash his A-game right quick if he wants to keep pace.

This dude is hotter than Chase Utley and Chipper Jones.

been to Japan many times and have worked with them for years. about ten years ago i hosted a guest worker from Japan at my house for nearly a year.
if you think they are totally forthcoming you're in a dream world. making excuses? no, but withholding key information in order to save face is standard operating procedure.
