If they don't go to the track the day before a 12f race they are likely scratch. The Japanese are very cautious. If there wasn't a really good horse in there than they might considering running him, but he probably couldn't beat Big Brown if he was 100%

The Japanese culture isn't an excuse making culture. If you don't know that go and spend some time in Japan. If you don't think the american culture is an excuse making culture you must not live in america. There is an excuse for everything. if you think they are totally forthcoming you're in a dream world. making excuses? no, but withholding key information in order to save face is standard operating procedure.
