Watching her on TVG tells me she has a wealth of information and a lot of pedigree info I can learn from her. I really think she should have her own show. She also has great TV personality.

that went over pretty well, i'd expect to see her on a more regular basis.

i was listening and admiring her knowledge...and then when i looked, i thought 'who is THAT?' had no idea it was lauren stich til they said their thank you's. she knows her stuff, that's for sure.

but i don't expect to see her in esoterics 'everyone's favorite game' thread.

I wonder if she actually makes money betting. . . Seems to me like she knows a lot about pedigrees but every time I hear her on Steve's show she seems a little clueless in terms of actually picking winners. . .

I like Lauren personally.

It is very difficult to find work in the racing industry. Anyone who has tried to do this has faced many disappointments. Some of us choose to take the high road.....some don't.

Are you suggesting that you have taken the "high road" in your bashing of LS?

I should have said nothing. But, it wasn't meant as bashing. I think it is unfortunate that this story has been distorted both on this board and elsewhere.

I wish Lauren well. That doesn't mean I agree with how she has handled the situation.

Lauren Stich's pedigree columns were very informative. It added value to DRF. I think they made a mistake by giving her the pink slip.

You don't seem to be able to let go of this. You were correct that you should have said nothing and you should have said nothing else. I'm not aware of how she has "handled the situation," but I haven't read any posts online where she bashed DRF or its staff and I don't recall hearing any negative remarks from her on ATR. Perhaps you can provide examples of such?

Lauren is not a handicapper. She is a pedigree expert. Why do people want everyone on TVG to be habdicappers? WHy do you think Gary Stevens left TVG?

Stevens hated putting out pick 4 tickets cause he felt his job was to analyze the races not to cap them. Now they have McCarron who they ask for picks.
I remember when Keeneland was on Todd Shrupp asked McCarron which horse he thinks will win the next race. McCarron closed his eyes and pointed to the first horse his finger pointed to on the racing form.

Because he has suggested that she has handled the situation poorly and provided no evidence of that. An explanation certainly seems appropriate.

Read her columns and sometimes hear her on the radio. Never met her.

If every handicapper on TVG picked losers from today till the end of the year I would be thrilled if TVG stopped treating New York racing as a 2nd rate circuit. I don't watch the network everyday but there have been multiple times a NY race runs and TVG is BEE ESSING while showing the complete post parade for a cheap Hollywood Park race. Then they show the live race of a 4 horse field from Bay Meadows. Then when there is 10MTP to post on the following race in NY they decide to show the previous race from the East Coast on tape delay.

Let it go.

A lot of it has to with TVG being based in Los Angeles. I agree they are biased on So. Cal tracks but they do show all NY races LIVE. Wait till Saratoga opens it will be coast to coast coverage.

Let's let BTW provide an explanation. I'm sure he would appreciate the same courtesy if someone made insinuations about him.
