Champions League Final

anyone else planning on watching what should be a cracking final.. Man United play the better football, but I think Chelsea will edge it 2-1

TheSpyder 05-21-2008 01:25 PM

Yes, Brockman

Looking forward to it.

I think Utd could stroll away with this tonight. They are playing with such confidence at the moment, and in a strange way, the pressure is off them. The fans won't be annyoed if they don't win tonight. They have won the league and that is the most important thing for any English club (in my opinion). Tonight is Chelsea's season, and the pressure will be on them from the start. I can see Chelsea trying too hard to score and leaving gaps at the back.

From what I can gather, a couple of the Chelsea players probably won't be 100% fit, either.

Utd to win with some comfort. 3-1

As a Man U fan, I'm glad, but that was a miracle win. After playing a great match, I feel terrible for Terry. Shootouts are a horrible necessary evil. I don't see how a fan can feel too great after a shootout win. I guess you take it any way you can get it.

brockguy 05-21-2008 04:58 PM

Well done United, jammy buggers..

TheSpyder 05-21-2008 05:04 PM

I guess the picture I posted got in the way of the question:

Why does the goalie wear a microphone??

Those were referees or assitant refs. They wear mic's so they can communicate with each other over the din.

The goalies are mic-less.

Shootouts blow....in any sport. I can't stand them defining the outcome of a hard fought game and that was an unbelievably hard fought game yesterday. The hatred those two teams have for each other certainly boiled over.

Question for our resident Euros, does FIFA/UEFA (or whomever presides over the Champions League) ever look at the tape after the game and issue fines/suspensions, etc...for shitty behavior missed by the referee?
