Mortimer 05-15-2008 08:19 AM

hoovesupsideyourhead 05-15-2008 08:50 AM

yes

Mortimer 05-15-2008 08:55 AM

good

hoovesupsideyourhead 05-15-2008 09:13 AM

they are toast..3-1 in the series...

Mortimer 05-15-2008 09:14 AM

Oh.

HoseGarden must have backed them...I assume.

MaTH716 05-15-2008 09:44 AM

I have thought that the officiating has been awful for most of the playoffs, but that no goal call was the icing on the cake last night. The Stars got a reprieve last night.

hoovesupsideyourhead 05-15-2008 09:47 AM

ill never forgive chelios for leaving... he must pay!!!..

That's the problem, too many euro's. Each team has like one guy that can fight and they are buried on the 4th line. I am a big Rangers fan and they have no toughness. Colton Orr is on the 4th line or doesn't play and a guy like Avery has to fight teams by himself. I miss guys like Toccett, Melanby, Messier, guys that have talent and not afraid to throw 'em if they have too. There are only a handful around now, Iginla and Lecavalier come to mind. But it is now the kinder faster NHL that makes it on national TV. So they don't want to see guys beatin the piss out of each other (sends the wrong message). I miss the old gritty, pushing and shoving after every whistle NHL, but those days are far gone.

I think the NHL is better than ever. Goons are down a bit but top to bottom the game is far more physical; far bigger players and equipment.

If you want some hockey action next week (assuming Pitt and Detroit clinch), try the Memorial Cup, a tourney with the winners of the WHL, QMHL and OHL (Major Junior Leagues champs) plus the Host team, Kitchener. Kitchener, Gatineau, Spokane and Belleville. Starts Fri the 17th. Round robin format, ends next weekend. The Kitchener-Belleville and Bellville-Gat games will be great games and not unlikely to be slugfests. Games s/b on VS Network.

Let the Stars have their 1 win. They are going to get crushed the next game in Detroit.....

I don't see it happening, but good luck. I am just ready for the fair-weather fans down here to start ripping on them, even though they had a great season... Dallas fans are the worst....

I am in a bind too. I really don't like the wings, but watching the Pens beat the Rangers (my team) left a bad taste in my mouth. Between Crosby diving and Malkin kicking guys legs out, for which any other guy would have gotten a suspension let alone a penalty. They were the better team, but it seemed like they got every call. So I am rooting for the Wings.

I was just kidding about the Lakers, I kind of want the Celtics to win ( I have always like KG and Ray Allen) but the Anti-Boston reflex kind of kicks in with me being from NY. I just don't see to much NBA in my immediate future.
