Now We Know....
....where all the good 3YOs were. They weren't really racing. Between Harlem Rocker, Casino Drive, Unbridled's Heart and Biker Boy we actually have a chance to have some nice 3YO races this summer. Every one of them seems better than every 3YO we saw on the TC trail save, perhaps, Big Brown.
Once again, Tom Albertrani did Darley/Godolphin a favor by somehow managing to keep Unbridled's Heart from going to Dubai over the winter. I wonder if they'll ever figure out that maybe they should stay over here. |
glad they showed up .. ..they are late........

I'm sure a few more that didn't really like synthetics will turn up as well.

El Gato Malo was dreadful out West and I see he won today. |
He wasn't visually all that impressive, but he was always going to be better on dirt. Maybe the clock will tell a different story. Without question we'll miss out on seeing some good horses, but since we won't know it, I guess it doesn't matter.

Next Sunday, highly touted CA 2yos (with slow numbers), Dixie Chatter and Wind's Legacy return in the 7f Laz Barrera at Hollywood. Both have been smoking in recent workouts. Should be an interesting matchup with the steady if slow Salute The Sarge in there as a gauge to see if the two comebackers have improved any. |

Tom Albertrani put over another Unbridled Song FTS 13 months . Look back in your charts April 14, 2007 race 8 at Gulfstream Park.
I was not smart enough to look up that tidbit before today's 5th race at Belmont. |

I hope for their sake Unbridled's Heart doesn't end up racing at Phili Park like Pemaquid Light. |

I would hope that the million dollar horse does not step foot on Philly Park dirt unless it's in the Pennsylvania Derby and even then it might not be a good thing since he wouldn't run in the Travers. The purse he won last month for a non winners of two was 46K. Slots pay$ off for horsemen. |
He raced almost exclusively at Phili after his maiden win.

She wasn't that tough in the KY Oaks. She was in a five way photo for a distant second....and Pure Clan got a terrible ride or would have been a clear second.
Little Belle is not much. |

Little Belle was coming off of a tough race where she put away a number of these horses in the Oaks. Came back a bit short by Mclaughlin's standards and ran a game race against a horse who was just hitting her stride. And, dare I say, you are wrong, there wasn't a photo for second. Little Belle was a clear second. But, my point was that the horse went to "Godawful" and without any injury or reason apparent, hasn't worked since April. Certainly a man in possession of the knowledge that you have has some understanding of the Etched, Little Belle, Unbridled Heart ...... "promotions". Just try to resist your urge to beat-up on folks and their opinions. You probably do have alot of info that many of us can benefit from. However, you disrespect yourself and your thoughts with cheap shots that I have seen you take fairly regularly on here. |

So... he disagreed with your original statement and wrote a reponse that was by no means angry or a personal attack on you... a plain ol' statement. and you disagree with his statement but respond with a personal attack on him............ For some reason I just find hypocrisy your post. |

To get a sense of how bad Proud Belle is, you only need to look at TRAKUS for her race at KEE (4/5/08 R9); in particular, ground covered (feet)
in order of finish 2) Bsharpsonata +26 3) Proud Spell +54 and didn't handle the track 4) Life is Sweet +14 5) Country Star +65 etc. In fact, this SUCKUP only ran LESS than a single horse in the race--the last place finisher and this by 3 feet. What a shock that she ran 2nd in the Oaks. Then again, EDGAR was on Pure Clan. So, to say that Little Belle is NOT MUCH, is to state the OBVIOUS. Unless, you're one of the 'competition'; and we certainly encourage your opinions. |

I missed this hypocritical attack. Good stuff! I'll be in a dunking booth for charity at Saratoga sometime during the meet. I suggest you start saving your quarters and work on your fastball. If people can't back up what they post, as you can't with your Little Belle assertions, then it isn't my fault if they don't like my responses. This is an open forum for people to present their opinions....that does not exclude others from disagreeing. Sorry if you hadn't realized that. At least now I know why you took a foolish cheap shot at me in another thread. By the way, five horses were within a length of each other for second in the KY Oaks. |

There wasn't a photo for second which is what you indicated previously. Saying she isn't much is a bit silly but we ARE in an open forum so you are welcome to your opinion, as am I. Your comment regarding a cheap shot in another thread just related to my agreement with yet another person who appeared to resent youR sarcastic/critical remarks. I believe he indicated you needed to have some manners. You see, even in an open forum, everyone is expected to engage in civil and appropriate conduct. You are good though. You manage to change the issue slightly to support yourself. A photo for second becomes a number of horses within a length of one another (still not correct but at this point, who cares). My comment about the Shadwell promotions, which was my entire point, is lost amidst all this bs. I don't agree that this is "good stuff" however. Your enjoyment of it is rather sad. |
By the way, I pretty much agree with your other points about Godolphin and Rick Mettee. Maybe it's unfair, but it does seem like the horses switched to him from Tom Albertrani haven't performed well, at least recently. Now, Unbridled's Heart got a mediocre trip, so maybe we're being a little hasty, and maybe I overrated him to begin with, but the terrible performance turned in by the once promising Barrier Reef is troubling. Ever since that horse went from Albertrani to Godolphin they have made one puzzling decision after another and now it appears he can no longer run particularly well. But, maybe I overrated him as well.
All I did was suggest that I didn't think Little Belle was much horse to begin with. Feel free to disagree. However, I think if you take a second and look back on your response you will see that it is unfairly personal. |
