ManilaRose 05-07-2008 11:04 PM

Ok, I should know this, but I'm doing a Super High 5 for real and I can't remember how to figure the ticket price. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A 5 horse box for $1 will cost $120, correct? If so, it's the wheel that I'm getting really confused on. Thanks for any help.

hockey2315 05-07-2008 11:05 PM

120 is correct . . . post the wheel if u want and i'll tell u what it'll cost. . .

smuthg 05-07-2008 11:10 PM

I"ll take 300 $2 quick picks... that's how all those folks seem to hit the big ones at Churchill...

ManilaRose 05-07-2008 11:11 PM

Thanks, I'm still working on the ticket so I don't really have my selections yet. I'll just post a hypothetical and if you can tell me the total I should be able to remember how to figure it.

6,7,9,12/6,7,9,12/6,7,9,10,12/3,6,7,9,10,12/3,6,7,9,10,12

Actually, these are the horses I want to use, not sure if I should wheel or if I should just do a lot of seperate single tickets with the 6,7,9,12 winning.

4 X 3 X 3 X 3 X 2 = $216/$1

Not familiar with how that works. Do they just give you the numbers randomly? I'd have about as good of a chance I'm sure.

1 x 4 x 5 x 6 x 5 =$600. my bad.

4 / 1-3-5-6 / 1-3-5-6 / 1-3-5-6-7-8-9-10-12 / 1-3-5-6-7-8-9-10-12 =$504

Again 1x4x6x8x8 = 600

"1 x 4 x 5 x 6 x 5 =$600. my bad." = 144

God aren't you supposed to know all ??? I'd ditch whatever I was using to do the calculation and download the dang calculator...

1 x 4 x 6 x 8 x 8 = $1536

if i box 3 horses in a trifecta, the calculation isn't 3 x 3 x 3. that would be $27. It's 3 x 2 x 1 = $6 for a $1 tribox.

same thing with the structure of your super 5. i made a mistake in my original calculation and rechecked it when you posted. you have a single, followed by 4 selections in 2nd, 5 in 3rd, 6 in 4th, and 5 in 5th.

wiphan 05-08-2008 03:07 PM

1/3,4,6,9/3,4,6,9/3,4,6,9/all
4/1,3,6,9/1,3,6,9/1,3,6,9/all

$576 total

relax. it's semantics.

the 8 selections you have in 5th place includes 3 that would be placed earlier in the sequence so in calculating the cost of the wager they're subtracted.

i would try picking up a ordinary calculator (not the program posted earlier)and multiplying 1 x 4 x 6 x 8 x 8 and see what you get.

Attachment 741Semantics ???? So the calculator is wrong even though I did on 2 different calculators that were designed specifically for exotic bets. unfortunately NJBets doesn't offer the bet or I would punch it up.. Can someone else jump in here.

You have a single on top so just punch up a 4X6X8X8 superfecta somewhere you can bet that.

the calculator is right. it's a $600 wager.

it got to the $600 by multiplying the actual number of individual $1 combinations. the calculation it did after you entered your picks was 1 x 4 x 5 x 6 x 5.

try it on the calculator function on your desktop.
