This kids got serious Derby fever!

I love his passion for the game at an early age, but it's still hard not to laugh a little.

HaloWishingwell 04-22-2008 11:06 PM

I think Desormeaux killed himself doing the flying dismount.

IrishofNDMan 04-22-2008 11:07 PM

the kid said Denis of Cork won the tropical park derby, and that tale of ekati is a grey.

SniperSB23 04-22-2008 11:20 PM

And we all thought that Blackthroatedwind wouldn't give out his Derby picks until the post position draw.

In all seriousness what are the chances that Pillow Pants wasn't involved in this? I was just waiting for the trainer was the exercise rider for Easy Goer jokes at any moment. When he said "Big Brown is followed by an eager Tomcito who's got more pace today than usual" I almost died laughing.

Trevor Denman wishes he had this kids accuracy...

IrishofNDMan 04-22-2008 11:27 PM

That video keeps busting me up, I love when he introduces Denis of Cork and how he puts the emphasis on Cork.

IrishofNDMan 04-22-2008 11:37 PM

This kid has just inspired one of my bets on Derby day. I will do a $5 straight tri Big Brown with Pyro with Colonel John.

What the hell.

3kings 04-23-2008 05:05 AM

The IEAH propaganda machine even has the little ones drinking the punch...........the other video's are all BB related too

zippyneedsawin 04-23-2008 05:11 AM

that's pretty funny/cute stuff. About as good a pre-race analysis as I've seen!! :D

XIIPointStables 04-23-2008 06:31 AM

I can't believe

-Denis of Cork survived that hellacious fall in the post-parade. Surprised the vet let him run after a horizontal fall like that.

-Colonel John's diagonal move in the stretch was not some sort of foul. He really came out in front of that horse.

-After his dismal effort in the Lexington, shocked Tomcito got in. Must have been the shoes.

Very funny video. Good for the kid to get so excited.

yeah, I agree. I wonder if the kid is related to someone in the business. (or a serious horse player).. he knew a lot of terms you wouldn't expect someone his age to know (I have no idea how old the kid is, just guessing he's 10 or so)

2Hot4TV 04-23-2008 06:48 AM

That was the best post race intrveiw Kent ever gave.

cowgirlintexas 04-23-2008 07:21 AM

Ya'll are halarious!!

By the way.. was Kent a Blue chicken?

So too does Tom Durkin. He wishes he could call a close race like this kid.

Mike 04-23-2008 08:21 AM

I think Child Protective Services should get involved. This child knows way too much about this immoral pasttime

Coach Pants 04-23-2008 08:24 AM

Cajun what in the hell are you doing uploading videos of your son?

miraja2 04-23-2008 08:45 AM

Even this kid knows better than to include Recapturetheglory or Smooth Air.

Gander 04-23-2008 08:52 AM

Hes dreaming if he thinks Pyro is going to be favored over Big Brown. Who can blame him though? He obviously is planning to make a big play on Big Brown and wants the best price possible.
Whats up with including Tomcito and not Bob Black Jack? LOL!

Travis Stone 04-23-2008 09:04 AM

When I was growing-up, I used to "play" horse racing all the time. If only you could have seen some of the stuff I did. But, its what turned me on to race calling and here I am.

MaTH716 04-23-2008 11:25 AM

Who would of thought that speed would hold on marble! The kid has a real future, he is already better that Battaglia.

I'm laughing, A LOT...

I think Colonel John would have nailed him at the wire if he didn't have to check hard in the stretch behind the tiring Tale of Ekati...

I also didn't realize Stauffer was calling the Derby this year...

Riot 04-23-2008 03:48 PM

Somebody should hire this kid. Now!

-BT- 04-23-2008 06:34 PM

the kids got sh!t hand writing

but he was spot on with the kent d. replica jockey

i laughed:D

-bt-

Lava 04-23-2008 06:45 PM

LMAO the best was Tomcito

eajinabi 04-23-2008 07:11 PM

Funniest thing is that I use to do the same thing when I was his age.

XIIPointStables 04-23-2008 07:13 PM

It's funnier the more you watch it. You pick up little things.

But man, that Tomcito stuff is really good.

Yeah my gf is asking me why I keep watching it, so I made her watch it and she didn't see the humor in at as she is not a big horse racing fan. I think the way he emphasizes certain words is what makes it funny to me, and the flying dismount at the end.

none the less good ****, I'm going to comment on the video and say I know a bunch of people who like it and would also like a Preakness and Belmont Stakes preview.

Me too, absolutely priceless. Loved the kid's Denman impression as well.

HA! I just went though the same thing. My g/f thinks I'm even crazier than ever. She didn't get it at all.

Riot 04-23-2008 08:24 PM

One of the Breyer horses is the Barbaro model

Swap Fliparoo 04-23-2008 10:04 PM

Wow, Pyro looks just like Cigar! :D

That was awesome. All the details were very cool, especially: "There is no footage of Tomcito, because all of his wins were in Peru." LOL

SOREHOOF 04-23-2008 10:41 PM

Better handicapper than most.

Yeah, I enjoyed that too. The Tomcito lines along with Denis taking the horizontal dive twice during the post parade and Kent D's flying dismount were all classic moments.

PPerfectfan 04-23-2008 11:17 PM

That was so funny! Someone needs to tell Barclay Tagg to get some grey "Nice n Easy" for his horse.hehe Or this kid is on to something and Tale of E is really grey and he colors his hair so the other horses dont laugh at him!!! :D

Pedigree Ann 04-24-2008 09:50 AM

I didn't have Beyers - I had those 2"-3" high plastic horses that came with 'Cowboys and Indians" sets back in the 1950s and 1960s. You bet they ran races, although they had 'their own' names - Silver, Silver Junior, Silver's Son (we got a lot of white horses in that one package).

Did you redboard the results of those races as well?

XIIPointStables 05-03-2008 05:59 PM

The Kid Had It!

And Tale Of Ekati Fourth!!!

We Should Have Keyed The Two In The Super!

ALostTexan 05-04-2008 11:52 AM

The kid even had the "flying dismount" correct...
