Some notes for KEE P6 Weds...
R6: Read the clocker's comments on #2, Sky Mission. John Ward is a master at getting nothing out of something but this homebred might be something even he can't screw up, and Prado hops on. #6 Butler Rock "Speedy gate move while being roused in the stretch", Graham/Fox is an excellent longshot connection and this one should be ready first out, especially with that pedigree. #7 Bayrod had an absolute nightmare trip first out, ran up and nearly clipped heels twice, and got sent into the rail on the turn. Form says "steadied" but I'd call it more like "nearly pulled up". Worth another look. #8 Nafzger/Borel/Tafel always worth a 2nd look but this one has NO talent. #12 Full Charge worked in company with Visionaire and got his doors blown off by that one. Would think he's worth excluding here, despite coming out of a key SAR MSW. R7 #4 Closeout is an absolute standout. It isn't fun singling in a 12 horse field, but watch the replay of her debut; walks out of the gate and spots them 15 lengths, and still blows them away. R8 #6 Korbyn Gold looks tough but I'm also using #1 Last Gran Standing, clockers are all over this one with "best work of day" comments. Looks like Korbyn's only competition if he's ready, and it sounds like he is. Werner's horse looks tough but I don't think he's fast enough at 6 1/2. |
Phil, in the 6th, check out Ecton Road, I remember this horse taking alot of action last time and running pretty well.
I can't believe you are touting Ward right now :) |

I must be sick... I absolutely detest Ward. |
Quote:
It's not like you to be so negative about a horseman. Ward is a fairly accomplished 2 year old trainer which you probably know a lot more about than me. Why so strong a feeling about this guy? |

People that are hilarious always get bite in the ass, sometimes it just takes longer then expected. Tracknet is a perfect example, unless the THG folds like a kid that just did something really wrong, Tracknet is going to look real bad come Saturday/Sunday, all next week when you can't bet Churchill Downs on TWINSPIRES.com..... |

It's obvious the stewards will never take action and put an end to this, until, I suppose, someone is killed as a result of it. |
Dang. I had Allaboutmack to complete contest pk6 at BigA. Was it close?

Nick and Pat. Nice job on 5 for 6. I had a little ticket structure issue today. :(

Thought of bringing in Allaboutmack was fun though. He is definitely one of those guys I have been following for a LONG time for no real good reason. Contests threads are definitely the place to work out the structure kinks out and practice. |

Obviously it wasn't easy to hit, but after looking at the prices of the winners, it's very surprising to me that it paid 174K.. I mean the winners paid:
Race 4) $5.40 (8/5) Race 5) $7.30 (5/2) Race 6) $8.70 (3/1) Race 7) $6.70 (2/1) Race 8) $8.60 (3/1) Race 9) $23.80 (10/1) Every winner EXCEPT the Absolute Return in the last (the highest price winner), paid less than its morning line odds. Of course, beating some big favorites (like mackinaw) makes a big difference too. Still... dang! |
Agree. Parlay was $14,700 so payout was well over 10X!!!
My guess is there were a ton of singles on Contessa in the 5th. Also maybe not the same level of real big budget players because it was "only" a single carryover? Not a cinch to get all those on the same ticket, but by no means impossible. Kind of makes you rethink just waiting for the mega carryovers to play... |
