Cole Norman - DWI
I guess him killing a woman while under the influence back in Feb. was'nt enough to make him get clean.. Nor was breaking his own neck before that. http://www.drf.com/news/article/90654.html

Some people unfortunately hit rock bottom...and then start looking for a shovel to keep digging.. |
I guess taking away his drivers liscense wouldn't have made any sense???

That visual (a row of mailboxes getting run over) belongs in a movie. In real life, people shouldn't have to put up with somebody doing that.Everybody has problems, but a decent citizen doesn't let the chronic become acute.

Not blowing my own horn but me and my friends have drank lots of time's with Co Co. To tell you the truth I never could tell how much the guy had drank. He acted the same after 10 beers as he did with 5 in him. Not saying what we were doing was right but your at L.A. Downs and it's 110 outside only one thing left to do. He really took a turn for the worse after that 4 wheeler wreck because Jorge took over most of the training of his stock. This gave Cole way to much time on his hands to do some things better not done behind the wheel of a atuomobile. Then after the DWI Jorge got almost all of his stock and left Norman with nothing to show for it. (not Jorge's fault) I hope he's finally figured out that being a high profile trainer only counts when people know who you.

I would really like to know the % of people that learn from the first time. I personally think if you get a DUI, it is three days in a minimum security jail. I think the % of 2nd time offenders would lower because I am guessing even minimum security is not fun. |

seems this guy has a tremendous problem. but until he decides it's a problem, and that he wants to fix it, no one can do a thing for him.
good luck to his wife and family. |

I guess the jury recommends six years in prison and for Norman to pay a $5k fine.
|
6 years.. Long time for him to sit and think...Will come out different man for sure.
|
He's guessing. I'm guessing he won't serve more than 18 months.

read a few articles recently about some repeat offenders. one guy got busted for three different dui's in a weeks time...then another guy just got busted for the fourth time--apparently killing another man which had lead to his third arrest wasn't enough to teach him a lesson. |

I would like to think so....but can't always count on that happening. |

I pass by the court house as I walk to work every morning. The other day I found a couple tickets
ticket 131745 -DUI and ticket 131747 -driving on a revoked license don't know what ticket 131746 was. I imagine this loser had spent the night in jail and was out the next day littering. you can't get plates for a car without a license so you have to drive someone else's. How do these people manage to find enablers. If you're a scum bum they line up around the block - |

[/quote] You can in N.Y. |
Jury finds Norman guilty
They found him to be guilty and it carries a 3-10 term. Judge to rule in the next few days.

I didn't know there was a jury. He plead guilty. I am not sure they had a jury sitting. Regardless, I read the sentencing guidelines -- he could be out in about a year to a year and a half all in.
The entire fiasco is a shame. It's a shame that someone can do such damage and hurt to others. Right or wrong, sickness or irresponsibility, you want to go out and screw up yourself or your own life -- your decision. Who gets to make the decision for the others -- the victims. If he's hit rock bottom, well, that's what is needed. Eric |
supposedly a six year sentence was recommended. he'd be out in a year.

I went down to Cummins on a field trip with my Criminology class when I was a mere babe in college (no I was not an inmate there !!). I'm sure it has improved some since those days, but I'm quite sure they still don't offer golf or tennis. |
