I coulda grilled him more..

Roger Clemens came into my place of employment yesterday....on my day off:mad:

Lucky I wasn't there...he would have thought the Senate Hearings was a birthday party after I got done with him:cool:

His kid is playing for the Astros Class A club here in town.

You know....I have no idea what to believe about Roger...what he did or didn't do. But, If I judged him the same way I judge others, which is based on how they treat me is a human being, this guy has moved way up in my book. Spent about 10 minutes with him Saturday and another 10-15 minutes with him just a little bit ago. I sensed very little ego. Loves the game of golf and treated me like he had known me forever. A real man's man that looks you in the eye when he is talking with you. I have seen him be nothing short of very accomodating when customers approach him and ask for his autograph.

I agree with you Kev....don't want to believe the steroids or the Mindy stories..he was a helluva competitor and I don't believe that Radomski guy JUST happened to have a reciept from Roger UNDER HIS FREAKIN TV....there..I feel better now

It's called 'saving face'. He needs all the support he can get.

LOL...Yeah, God knows every pro athlete is standing in line to be built like me. I mean, who wouldn't love to be 5'8", 155lbs:rolleyes:

gales0678 07-29-2008 08:38 AM

kev,

u should have asked him if he wanted out of game 6 in the '86 WS or if Mcnamara took him out

Just messin' with ya'. I would have loved the chance to see Clemens. Still one of my favorites. Mostly because I still see him like I did when I was a kid, and I care so little about most of the pro sports now that changing my mind on him isn't worth it now.

Very cool that you did get to meet up with him...

i don't understand why some people get really excited about seeing a celeb. i saw scottie pippen the other day, it was unexciting.
he's driving around a massive truck, i asked him what kind of mileage it got. he asked 'what do you mean?'. i said you know, miles per gallon. he wouldn't answer. seemed strange to me.
but i did find it funny that he was wearing socks that said 'nba' on them. what, if someone wasn't sure it was him, they would be able to verify it because he was wearing 'pro' socks??

Do you often ask total strangers what type of gas mileage they are getting? If so, what is the typical response? His response seems relatively normal considering the question posed.

It is funny to watch some people go crazy and stare at him when he comes in.

the guy pulled up in the equivalent of an f-650. huge freightliner diesel-with an alarm system of course-four door, the thing is monstrous. i told him nice truck, he said thanks, i asked what kind of mileage. maybe he's used to people saying nice truck, can i get an autograph.
