Any idea which Finsceal Beo will show up?

brockguy 03-26-2008 04:28 PM

not the good one me thinks.. she'll get her ground though, but Im far from convinced that Bolger has got her back to last spring's form..

I hope you're right.

The race is 4:55am NZ time, I'm thinking about staying up for it.

Go girl!

brockguy 03-26-2008 07:11 PM

ed, alot of people think that Seachange didnt like the very firm grass in Dubai last time out. what do u make of it? does it really matter for her..

Monarchos 03-26-2008 10:38 PM

I really like Bullish Luck, Linngari, Archipenko. I'll go with them. :)

ArlJim78 03-26-2008 10:55 PM

I think Seachange and Archipenko are interesting. Where did that last race come from for Archipenko? He has been lethargic for a year, and then suddenly there he is with an open lengths win in Dubai?

and because I think you need to watch the horses from the far east, I'm going to throw in another name, Admire Aura. this one looks to be improving and in current sharp form.

jaripeo 03-26-2008 11:30 PM

It is early for any final pick, but Im making a reveu on Australia's seven-years-old and two-time Group one winning miler Niconero.
He won the Futurity Stakes at Caulfieldn, and nobody will let go a $ 1 million Dollars bonus because that race was - the first leg of the four-race Asian Mile Challenge.
The Dubai Duty Free is the second leg. Then the Challenge moves to the Champions Mile at Sha Tin and final the Yasuda Kinen in Tokyo.
So I will put him in my mix.

I don't think that's an issue, her last two G1 wins were on very dry tracks.

We have far fewer track classifications. I'd say our 'Good' covers all of Good, Good to Firm and Firm under the UK system, and her last two starts would have definitely been on the firmer end of the scale.

2 of her 5 defeats in NZ have been on soft tracks that she obviously struggled in, so I would say she prefers drier going.

According to Manning she's settled in far better than she had at the time of the Jebel Hatta, and her work has improved out of sight according to him. I still expect her to run out of gas near the end, but she keeps going on empty for a while so I expect a much better performance.

Unless, that is, she's in a tough speed duel through most of the race. (Yes, I'm still bitter about the team riding against Sunline in this race a few years ago!)

He is a good horse, it would not be a good idea to leave him out.

However, I believe that last year's running of the Futurity, won by Aqua D'Amore with Seachange running a close and slightly unlucky second ahead of Cox Plate winner El Segundo, was a better running than this year's. So include our mare too. :)

Sorry, Ed. From my personal opinion I dont think any of the girls will WIN, but sure, they may be in the quinelas or any other exotic bet.

brockguy 03-29-2008 11:12 AM

a seachange win here would be sensational.. but what a race.. whatever wins is a good horse..

Absolutely.

Best field of the day and good luck to the Bullish one:) , to Vodka and Darjina, to Seachange, Linngari who always tries so hard.....

I think Floral Peg wins here.

Coach Pants 03-29-2008 11:27 AM

I'd love to see Niconero pull the massive upset.

Admire Aura is my main bet.

ArlJim78 03-29-2008 11:34 AM

gimme a bomb here, i'm live with 3 4 5 7 8 13 in pk3's.

GOOD LUCK!

Good luck to all of you.

I wouldn't use Notional in an allowance race at Santa Anita. Why would I use him in a $5 million dollar gr1 against some of the worlds best turfers?

brockguy 03-29-2008 11:44 AM

ive put a bit on linngari even though he is in 16! him floral or seachange to win and ill be happy... would love to see finsceal run back to last springs form too.

2Hot4TV 03-29-2008 12:02 PM

brockguy 03-29-2008 12:02 PM

Don't know but I never expected much out of him..... entered by default.

Very nice and unexpected result. GOOD for Darjina too!

Ummm, Notional... last?

Coach Pants 03-29-2008 12:06 PM

How much longer will Sheikh Mo keep Bin Suroor as trainer?

prudery 03-29-2008 12:07 PM

Half out of the saddle and the jockey gets his mount home ... The overhead shot was an eye opener ... OY ...

ArlJim78 03-29-2008 12:07 PM

unreal, wish the rider could have got Archipenko out earlier. it looked to me like he was the best.

he did a masterful job with diabolical.

brockguy 03-29-2008 12:11 PM

marcus did a great job staying on... i think there was a bit of trouble behind in running for others

_ed_ 03-29-2008 05:50 PM

Congratulations to the connections of Jay Peg, excellent performance by both horse and rider.

I thought our mare went another very brave race, but it's just a bit too far for her. Please say there's a Group 1 for fillies & mares over 7 furlongs in the UK or Ireland that I haven't heard of. ;)
