pointman 02-21-2008 02:24 PM

Its is great that she will be racing this weekend, but unless the race comes up real soft Saturday, let's hope that she gets in Friday.

Paris Winds looks awfully tough in this spot. Thought KNS would be higher odds on M/L, still hoping to get in Friday. Maybe they are on to all the DT money on our horses.

Heels1989 02-21-2008 05:37 PM

Mike:

Did you get much rain today? How likely will they be "off" tomorrow?

AeWingnut 02-21-2008 05:50 PM

I haven't looked at the PPs but - if they are off the turf, I don't see her catching up to them...
I'm just saying the turf is kinder to her style.

maybe things have changed

I don't know.

wouldn't mind finding out how she can do against $20k alw horses vs $18k psuedo claiming (meaning no one will pay $50k for a $20k horse)

after she wins Saturday there's a nice stake race on the Tampa Bay Derby undercard. :D

I started out the day in SC and just got home.

My 6yr old said it didn't rain all day. Not sure if I believe her.

Okay, just checked with my wife and she verified the 6yr old's statement.

Radar has very scattered rain, tomorrow's forecast is for 20% chance.

They'll be on the turf tomorrow.

hoovesupsideyourhead 02-21-2008 06:29 PM

go kns gets the good rider..

31lengths 02-21-2008 08:10 PM

So is the preference to run Friday or Saturday?

The Friday race seems like a much easier spot if KNS gets in. I can't speak for Chuck and Steve but I believe that would be the choice.

After looking over past performance we'd be better off starting from an auxilliary gate on Friday than going on Saturday. She runs her best on Friday and we win. She runs her best on Saturday and we hope to not be too many length behind Paris Winds and maybe grab second.

Cannon Shell 02-21-2008 08:43 PM

We will run Friday if given the chance which is remote. Motts horse looks tough in the Allowance race but that is the hand we are dealt. I actually hope it rains on Sat, Mott scratches, we run with a shot and at the least get a special date that gets us into any race we want next time.

Danzig 02-21-2008 10:34 PM

it's a thrill just to be nominated.:D

at any rate, best of luck to our gal. here's hoping she gets in friday (ya neva know) or that she runs her ass off saturday--either way, that she comes back just fine.

Buffymommy 02-22-2008 07:15 AM

Did she get in for today or are you guys going tomorrow?

I believe 10 am at Tampa but it is very unlikely to happen

OK...Thanks .

SniperSB23 02-22-2008 09:12 AM

I wonder what the story is with Paris Winds. Seems like being graded stakes placed if she had an injury that kept her out for all of '07 they would have bred her. Wonder if she's infertile or something. She could easily be prepping for stakes company here, just our luck.

Many Others 02-22-2008 09:38 AM

well came to work after toughing out ice storm #25 yesterday and wearing lucky everything just in case she gets in - will check back later to see what happens... hope KNS is staying cool, calm and collected in the meantime and not kickin and screamin already, g/l Chuck, TC, Socks and whoever else is on the grounds with her...

Does anybody have the PPs for the race tomorrow?

pmacdaddy 02-22-2008 04:31 PM

PM me your e-mail. I will send PP's.

AeWingnut 02-22-2008 04:58 PM

geez louise

Maybe Paris Winds will hate the Tampa Bay course, get bored and quit on her own.

Just like the real Paris, she's goin' down.

SniperSB23 02-22-2008 06:47 PM

Well, the pace horse today would have been tough to run down. We might have been another fast closing 2nd battling the 6 horse. At least if we run 2nd tomorrow we just lost to a very good horse rather than being beat by a poor pace scenario.

31lengths 02-22-2008 07:37 PM

Just FYI.....Now they're sayin' 50 % chance of rain. Plan accordingly.

Hope it holds off til after the race.

Off the turf would mean no Paris Winds so might not be a bad thing. Electric Sky looks dangerous if it goes off the turf though (she's probably really dangerous in a thunderstorm).

I don't know if Chuck would run if the track came up really off. Even without Paris Winds I see some others that could pose a problem. Not nearly as bad as P.W. though.

It's an open allowance we are putting a horse we claimed for $20,000 in, not going to be easy no matter what. I think I'd be happier with a few horses that could pose a problem instead of one that definitely poses a huge problem.
