That sucks

pointman 02-20-2008 03:09 PM

Chuck I assume that you are going to enter her Saturday as well. If she gets in Saturday and draws in Friday, do you have the option as to which spot to run?

I will enter for Saturday but have a feling that we will have a tough time getting into that race as well. If we were to draw in on Friday I would most likely run unless the race Sat was easier.

pointman 02-20-2008 04:35 PM

Do they determine AE's by the horse(s) who has run most recently?

AeWingnut 02-20-2008 05:17 PM

nominations close on Saturday March 1st

The Hillsborough Stakes
Purse $175,000 Guaranteed
Fillies And Mares Four Year Olds and Upward - About One Mile And One Eighth (Turf)
(To be run Saturday, March 15, 2008)

AeWingnut 02-20-2008 05:34 PM

What is the deal with overnights?

I looked at the overnights and there is a 6X race that sounds close to what we could realistically enter
Optional Claiming Allowance race with a purse of $20,400 for Fillies and Mares 4 and up. Which have never won 3 races... doh, maybe next time?
Weight 122 lbs.
Non-winners of a race at a mile or over since January 23 2 lbs.
Such a race since December 23 4 lbs.
CLAIMING PRICE $32,000
(Races where entered for $25,000 or less not considered in weight allowances)
(Condition Eligibility)
ABOUT ONE MILE AND ONE SIXTEENTH(Turf)

I'm just looking at the book and checking for oppurtunities
doesn't seem to be any
anytime soon.

Heels1989 02-20-2008 06:19 PM

Showers tomorrow, isolated T'Storms Friday.

If the race comes off the turf and she becomes eligible, will we see her on the dirt?

There were some that deserved preference because they haven't run yet at the meet and others that had run in off turf races that get a 'star'... Several from the race we came out of DIDN'T make the AE's...

Thanks Steve, I guess it is done differently than harness racing. I am guessing we may be in the same boat when we drop in Saturday based upon Chuck's comments.

Chuck has said for previous tries that if the race came off the turf that he would run on the dirt unless the track came up too muddy for his liking
but I don't know if that is still the case

This says a lot for Tampa Bay Downs... the racing there is just as good, if not better than Gulfstream with all the horses trying to get into a race. Would a race at GP be an option at this point or later on?

steve 02-20-2008 08:35 PM

disillusioned and disgruntled

Maybe

31lengths 02-20-2008 10:09 PM

So 2 horses have to scratch for her to get in Friday? Do I understand that correctly?

Why do you think she'll have a tough time getting into the Saturday race?

Because the preference will go to horses that are closer to the designed ALW level of the condition..
