Giants

Hell of a season.
That last drive stake to the heart.
Great effort from the D-front totally exhausted.
Good job by the O-line, and Tyre with that
catch... you will see that one over and over.

You NY guys who stuck with this
team should be proud. That was
one of the best Super Bowl's I have
watched.

Now maybe Dallas fans will realize
it was not a total fluke they got
beat at home 1st game.

And I would also like to
know the square footage
of Eli's and Peyton's sinuses

Im betting the size of a tennis court.

Did ARchie have a giant nose...

Much as it pains me, I would be less than honest if I didn't extend sincere congrats to the Giants and their fans here on DT. Fantastic effort and deserved
result....they kicked the Pats asses for 4 quarters!!! No excuses no real regrets.
The better team tonight plays home games in the meadowlands.

The Dolphins may suck but we still have one record and Jason Taylor won the Walter Payton award (whatever that is). Maybe Arlen Spector will step in and force the comissioner to give the Dolphins Tom Brady and 3 number 1 picks? That guy is enough to turn me Democrat...

Hey, last team that Bucs, Cowboys, Packers and Pats lost to? NY Giants! That is one amazing run... from long-time Cowboys fan, kudos to G-I-Ants!

Giants could have been greatest dynasty in American tackle football -- but, they let two of best coaches in NFL history move on to championship teams. Lombardi to Packers & Landry to Cowboys who garnered two Super Bowl wins each during their Hall of Fame coaching tenures.

Well..he tries hard to be a dem..lol

i talked to you earlier so you know i'm surprised the NYG did what they did. That was as impressive a four games of football as any team can play.

Next year?...7-9

Probably.
Coughlin is one of those coaches
the players end up wanting to kill.

seems like he has mellowed though...is that right?

side note..I know his son-in-law plays o-line for them..that would have to be challenging

They say he has mellowed which means
instead of finger nails on chalkboard he
is a metal fork scraped through the teeth.

They played great. I was mystified with NE's playcalling. Were they saving Moss for the Pro Bowl? Going for 4th and 13 on the 30, up 4? And the Giants were very lucky that a few of Eli's passes werent picked. But the play where he escaped and threw it up for grabs was like a sign that they were destined to win. That was an unbelievable play. My dad was saying a few weeks ago how a few bad bounces or fortunate breaks can turn you into a genius or goat. That was never more true than today.

that was pure Belechek arrogance

maybe the Giants force you into those 8 yard slants..that's all GB could do and Dallas either

NE O-Line was very bad...never seen Brady hit that hard..Giselle will have her work cut out for her

The Giants D-line really is good
so the Pats having problems was not
a total suprise. Brady did get smacked
harder this game than all year long.

Really the Giants marched down the field
with a few big plays interspersed that last drive.
The Giants
played better and I thought deserved to win.

The pats did miss a few int. but the Giants did too.

The Giants were far more fortunate tha NE in close or lucky plays. The ball the NE guy fell on when the Giants were on there own 15 was unbelievably lucky. If NE gets the ball on the 15 and goes up 14-3, a whole different ball game. On the last drive alone the were a few plays that went the Giants way. I am not knocking them, they were a deserving champion, unlike the BCS which would have had NE vs Dallas and poor Mercury Morris would be crying right now.

Plaxico faked the NE defender out big time for the TD catch.

Any pics of him doing a bit....more ....with a goat would be news.

i just wish i could have seen tikis face while watching the game unfold.....

Coach Pants 02-03-2008 10:59 PM

Don't hold a goat until you are the goat. Otherwise you just look gay.

Montana has 4, kid. Get 4, then think about 5 so you can do your cheesy goat picture.

Just an awesome game by the Giants. I just kept waiting for the wheels to come off the bus and they never did. You have to think that the Pats thought that they would just turn it on when they need to and they almost did. Eli was awesome, and well worth the draft picks they gave up for him. He is the franchise QB and helped them reach the promise land. Unbelievable effort from the whole team, including guys like Smith and Tyree who is like their 5th reciever. What an unbelievable catch. Even Jacobs converting on 4th down. Unbelievable job by the coaching staff ( really hope that they don't lose Spags, but they will like they lost John Fox).
One thing that bothered me, I have always like Belichek because of his Giants roots. But I thought that it was a real classless move leaving the field during that whole last second fiasco.
As great as the win in SB 25 was this one is twice as sweet. I can't wait to get me a 18-1 Tee Shirt tomorrow. How bout them Giants!

Oh Yeah, where is Mr. Barber?

Thank You, I can't wait to go to Modell's tomorrow and buy tons of crap! My son is going to get any Eli Manning Fathead for his room to go with his Secretariat pictures.

I'm not a giants fan or hater, but I've never been so happy with a Superbowl since the niners won in 1995.

It really almost makes me want to be a Giants fan. That was an awesome performance by a team that deserves it. I'm glad for you and all the Giants fans that stuck with the team all season.

Are you serious? The Giants thoroughly outplayed the Patriots tonight. They did not need any breaks, they made their breaks. The blueprint for winning this game started from the first drive. The Patriots offense found it tough all night getting down the field. Most teams that only got 3 in thier first 3 tries in the red zone would have quit. Give credit where credit is due, the Giants outplayed the Patriots and deserve to be World Champions.

Listen Homer if it wasnt for for Jacobs being tall and falling for the first down on 4th and 1, Eli snaking his way out of the clutches of 2 lineman and Tyree making a once in a lifetime catch, we would be talking about how resilient NE was to overcome playing poorly to win. They hardly dominated, they got the breaks that are the difference between winning and losing. A few bad bounces and tough breaks were the difference as with most close games. They deserve the championship but lets not get carried away.
