This is his favorite course in all the world. If this was at Riviera,he wouldn't be leading. He has never won the L.A. Open.I don't know if he will even play it anymore.Next week will be a decent test, too. If he is dominant in Dubai, then it's gunna be a huge year.Usually doesn't dominate there. He can win it,but it's not his favorite course, and he detests the 18th hole there. |
...literally toying with these guys!
|
Now,how are they gunna change this track for the U.S. Open? Higher rough, but what else?
|
Tiger will have to wear weighted gloves or play in heels to make it even:eek:

He has always said he hates practice range players who consistently hit great shots. He says you gotta play. Scuds must be right about the course. |
Guys, we are fortunate to be watching what promises to be the greatest year of the greatest player the game has ever seen. He spent the better part of four months working on his game, his body, and his future. At 32, there will be great years ahead, but he is in the prime of his cycle (like a 5yo), and this may be the one................all four majors fit his game (coincedence??), and as a new father, husband, etc., etc., this may just be the year. Just sit back and enjoy the movie..................

Yeah....he ain't been doing much sitting around. It is just incredible how much better he is than everyone else....favorite course or not. The average Joe has NO IDEA how good your AVERAGE PGA Tour player is. The fact that he is heads and shoulders above the best players in the world....it is just hard for me to fathom. I have seen and played with alot of very very good players in my life....there are just no words to describe him. |
There are 2 tracks where this guy is waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better than the rest. One is Torrey Pines, and the other is Firestone(American Express top 30,or whatever that boring thing is called.)The difference between him n' the rest of the world is incredible on those 2 courses.
Buick 2008...1st(-19) Buick 2007...1st(-15) Buick 2006...1st(-10) Buick 2005...1st(-16) There is a reason he avoids Hawaii, and Palm Springs(and waits to start in San Diego.)It's not just by chance. It doesn't tell ya as much as ya think.Dubai will tell ya where he is at(it's not his favorite, but he has won there.)He goes for the 5 or 10 mil from the sheiks(not because he likes the course.)That's why I say wait to see if he dominates there. If he does, then it could be a record breaking year.See ,that Stenson guy is warming up with a 65 in Qatar today(to come 2nd place.)I think he prefers Dubai, and he only had 2 bogeys in 72 holes this week.I think he already beat Tiger in Dubai. So,that's what I'm saying. It's a good test for Tiger.Last year in Dubai(after shooting -15 at San Diego) 1 STENSON Henrik SWE -19 2 ELS Ernie RSA -18 3 FASTH Niclas SWE -17 3 WOODS Tiger USA -17 The year before,Tiger got a gift from ELS,and he won the Dubai Desert classic in a playoff. It's not a gimmee for him. |
What gets me about golf, bowling, and tennis is that the crowd has to be quiet so that the player can concentrate. Well what is the difference between getting ready to hit a golf shot or a serve and getting ready to pitch a ball, hit a ball, shoot a free throw or call out a play in football. All require great concentration. So why can't a crowd get all loud and start heckling a golfer when he/she is standing over a putt?

The Par 5 13th is also going to be stretched out to over 600 yards. The carry, over the canyon is 250 yards plus. Yesterday, they showed an ariel of the new tee box. Visually, very intimadating.
Torrey will be a totally different course this summer, but I like this Tiger guy's chances alot. ;) :D |
Sorry Crown. Looks like we were posting the same thing at the same time.

I guess the reason Tiger wins so easily in San Diego, and loses(or wins by a shot in a playoff) in Dubai is because he can read the greens a lot easier in San Diego. He has lost to lightweights Bjorn, and O'MEARA(at the age of like 47) in Dubai.Doesn't help that he has to travel to the other side of the earth, too. In May 2001 I flew to NYC,and my equilibrium was off the whole time I was there. I kept thinking it would go away, but it didn't go away until 2weeks after I got back.He is used to flying ,but that's still a long trip. For the average person it would be like 20 hours. You would probably have a connect in Europe. For him(on his private jet) maybe they can get it down to 12 hours. The quickest nonstop commercial jet I see listed is like 15 hours one way(Houston-Dubai.)

Reminds me very much of the way he looked when he won this tournament 2 years ago.Field is even more intimidated this time, though. They really get paralyzed when they get close to him.It reminds of this little footage here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jgptxyGjkc Note the production style(the use of the golden arrow is quite a fancy touch.) The film looping etc. indeed invokes memories of an artist like (the one n' only) Leni Riefenstahl. |

Woke up just in time to see him put his 2nd shot in the water on the par 5 18th hole.He wanted to make 3,and be a shot back of Els going into Sunday.Instead, missed putt for a 5,and is 4 shots back.He has won this thing once(and that was a gift from both Richard Green and Els.)The 2 most predictible guys are there in front of him(ELS N' STENSON.)Truth be known,Els should of won this 4 or 5 times already(fairly weak mentally.)Tiger will try very hard.He was back by what? 3 shots two years ago(into Sunday.) He just doesn't care for these greens. He doesn't like the 18th hole.Doesn't care for the sandy winds, and probably has allergies that stoke up in this part of the world. For sure, something about this tournament bothers him. That's why it's a great tournament. It's a true challenge. Dubai Desert Classic Outright Winner Ernie Els 11/8 Henrik Stenson 5/2 Tiger Woods 100/30 Lee Westwood 12/1 Sergio Garcia 28/1 Graeme McDowell 33/1 Martin Kaymer 66/1 Peter Hedblom 80/1 Damien McGrane 125/1 Shiv Kapur 125/1 |
Tiger birdied 2 out of 1st 3 holes in final round(before ERNIE even tees off his lead is cut in half.) That is one ruthless guy.
|
-3 thru 4 holes..Els teeing off with a 1 stroke ahead...lol....Guess Tiger took his vitamins.
|
Scuds are you watching this live?
I see the scoreboard now Tiger gave 2 shots back on the front.....now they have really pissed him off....lol!!! Hopefully he goes low on the back nine.. |
Ernire birdies 13 and 14 after back to back bogeys on 11 and 12. Lets see if he has any sack to him from here on in. Tiger birdies 18 and in clubhouse with 1 shot lead.
Els needs to birdie 2 of the last 5 holes to win. |
Els has zero heart anymore....Tiger ripped it out a few years ago.
|
Should announce his retirement..........Tiger said he did the same thing yesterday(hit the 2nd shot into lake on 18th.)Uh,Tiger you hit the water 10-15 feet from making the green.Ernestine hit the ball into THE FKN CENTER OF THE DAMN LAKEThis was the biggest gift of all.He has given it up to TIGER a lot,but this is the worst.Tiger thought he needed to shoot one better(to just make a playoff.)I think Tiger could have shot one worse on the back 9,and would have won.No way KAYMER eagles the last if it meant a tie for the lead.Ernestine would have tied him at -13.Then Ernestine would have hit it into the lake in the playoff. When you really see how many guys made birds on either of the last 2 holes(Tiger birdied both,) to not be able to birdy either is about as feminine as a man can get.Should just retire in disgrace.

I think Tiger is illegally taking
video while others are working in secret on their short game. I am now writing Arlen Specter to investigate this domination. |
Simply the Best....watching History..nothing else to be said!!
