First I spelled the first part right, but used an " a " instead of an e in the middle....and then misspelled it when I changed it.

This sentence is neither grammatically correct, nor does it use correct punctuation. In order for the sentence to be correct, it must contain a comma after the word "him" followed by the word "then." All sentences beginning with the word "if" must contain the word "then" to be grammatically correct.

I think you mean euphemism. "Ephemism" is not a word. Another example of why you shouldn't be commenting on others' grammar and spelling.
