Sunday at Santa Anita

If anyone hears or reads anything final concerning another cancellation Sunday please post the announcement here and save me from wasting another 4 hours cappin' a card that never is run.....

Danzig 01-06-2008 07:36 AM

you will need to cap for another track. they said sunday was possible if no more rain fell--but it rained last night...

also read that maimonides is out of the san rafael--baffert cited the weather and the surface.
talk of a cat (pletcher) will also probably skip the race.

way to go magna.

Rootdog1 01-06-2008 10:00 AM

it appears they are running.....anyone heard any different?

2Hot4TV 01-06-2008 10:06 AM

They say that the program will be run today, but really how many horses will scratch? You can listen to a local radio show that is on now to get the real deal.http://www.rogerstein.com/

docicu3 01-06-2008 10:36 AM

They can't accept any more requests for the stream can somebody write the stream info so I can place it directly in the browser.

Rootdog1 01-06-2008 10:44 AM

By the way, they are awaiting to walk and jog on the track and will not make the decision until 11am pacific

TVG just reported that they are racing, but most of the races will be at 5 1/2 furlongs. There are a ton of scratches. It is just ridiculous.

I love the second race, so going to play early pk4. Chance to make some money today. Only race I cant figure is the 3rd....I still love Sohgol, and prob have to now use Shes and Eleven...just not sure what to expect from Hocking Hot and Lavender Sky

Scav 01-06-2008 12:45 PM

I think I got the 8th race figured down to two horses :)

Rootdog1 01-06-2008 12:46 PM

wait a second, I assumed they were off the turf in the 3rd....but it doesnt say that does it?

ArlJim78 01-06-2008 12:47 PM

Supposedly, there is a bad spot at the 3/4's pole or something, that is what Ron Charles said in an interview in the DRF I think, not sure, that or Thoroughbred Times

Rootdog1 01-06-2008 12:50 PM

the chute is really bad, so they have to use 5 1/2

thanks,
what a bizarre day if they run like this. i thought for sure they would cancel.

The Bid 01-06-2008 12:56 PM

Why even bother running? Risking the horses is lunacy

Rootdog1 01-06-2008 01:02 PM

now they are saying no racing.......the back and forth is silly, just make a call to cancel until wed.

ArlJim78 01-06-2008 01:05 PM

they just keep digging the hole deeper, looking more and more foolish.

there is only one option, move the meet, right away, and replace the track.
that is going to happen anyway, so just get on with it.

Cannon Shell 01-06-2008 01:07 PM

Los Alamitos, the kinda great race place

King Glorious 01-06-2008 01:10 PM

Apparently, SA has made the request to the CHRB to move racing dates over to Hollywood if this can't be fixed fast and the CHRB is going to hold an emergency session on Tuesday. This comes after I heard straight from Shapiro's mouth that state law requires them to give a 10 day notice first because it's got to be a public hearing.

Maybe Arnold can sign an executive order (of course with the Indians approval first)

SCUDSBROTHER 01-06-2008 10:38 PM

You go buy a canoe yet?

docicu3 01-06-2008 11:49 PM

So are we saying that even if it's dry and rain has stopped that it is unlikely we are racing at SA tomorrow or are we to actually believe that the early scratches
for Monday racing which number "2" at the moment are reflective of an intention to race tomorrow??

Scuds, The "Mothernature line" will live on the board til Byk is a grandfather which at present may be about the time BTW is married with offspring himself!!

Maybe this whole idea should be re-considered....lol.

No,I'm gunna be Japanese-Style n' save this week's gains.I guess Americans do need to save more ,huh. Man,it's embarassing to send money to somebody in another country.A dollar is worth like a quarter of a Euro,or seems like it is gunna get that way.I'll tell ya who does need transportation home(canoe or whateva.)Chuck's horse that ran in the Tampa 6th could use a lift home.I didn't bet the race.I ain't bitter bettor.I just saying...Ya know...Horse may need a lil lift to make it home.I guess she wants a turf sprint.

2Hot4TV 01-07-2008 06:49 AM

Rained all Sunday night at Santa Anita and I don't think they will be racing unless they called a plumber to fix the drains.
