HAHAHAHAHA he isn't even known as the best return man this year, one Mr. Cribbs of the Browns is.

I don't think you can be MVP on a team as pathetic as the Bears are this year anyways.

GROSSMAN 4 MVP BABY!!!

mclem10011 11-25-2007 08:30 PM

Hester is sick..........

What I can't freakin figure out is WHY THE HELL do they keep kicking to this guy? Kick the damn thing threw the uprights, or find someone who can already! Do I sound a little pissed? I am! Because of the freakin chokejob by Denver, I lost a freakin football pool, not huge $ but it would have been nice!

worst person in the nfl.

i like olberman's schtick but i'd suggest the decision of not kicking away from hester was from the denver coaching staff, not the doof with his foot over his head.

i don't think they leave that sort of stuff up to him.

what color is the sky on your planet?

IrishofNDMan 11-25-2007 10:38 PM

This year Jonathon Cribbs of the Browns has been a better return man, just look at the numbers.

All the analyst have said it to, I know that doesn't mean anything, but the numbers do.

Your way of posting and talking really is comical though. I hope when you have to hold a conversation with someone you don't talk like this, is it even English??

packerbacker7964 11-25-2007 10:44 PM

Stupid Shanny. I'd done what the Vikes did and kick the damn ball into Lake Michigan before I'd kick it to him. I'll give Da Bears the ball on the 50 yard line before I'd kick to Hester. If I'm on the 50 I kick the damn ball somewhere out of bounds inside the 30 yard line. Good enough for me I'd say.

ArlJim78 11-25-2007 10:57 PM

lets look at the career stats, before today.

Hester, 121 total returns, 8 touchdowns

Cribbs, 174 total returns, 4 touchdowns

of course all Hester did today is add two more touchdowns.

Are you out of your mind? Do you REALIZE that Hester is 3 returns away from the ALL TIME RECORD in about 260 less games. The leader has 13 returns in like 300 games, Hester has 10 in 27 games

I was there yesterday and it was just amazing. Gotta love going to a Bears win. Too bad the day turned out like crap with SIU getting smoked in national TV

Note: Brian Mitchell is all time leader with 13 returns in 227 games. Devin Hester has 10 returns in 27 games. I would say that is pretty impressive

SentToStud 11-26-2007 10:31 AM

Pretty funny when your team played in the Super Bowl nine months ago, you can't beat Detroit, you won't make the playoffs and you're left with Devin Hester as your MVP candidate. I hate the Bears.

Go Dolphins.

Yeah, they are VERY frustrating. Absolute garbage.

I at least thought I had SIU to cheer for but with yesterday's performance, I am close to becoming a hockey fan.

This is rich.

And you're a tool.

No surprises here, move along.

Hester is not only easily the best return guy in the game right now, he's quite possibly the most explosive return man EVER.

Bears need to get Ricky Williams. Watch him get 100 yds tonight.

Go play your guitar in the corner and shut up! You are probably like Jim Rome, you want to talk sports and ****, yet the only sport you have ever played is Tennis.

I'm going to have to come to a DT gathering next summer, hopefully you make the trip and insult me to my face.

SniperSB23 11-26-2007 12:51 PM

11 career TDs
9 career tackles
8 career receptions
5 career rushes

Those have to be some of the more unusual numbers of all time.

I could play the "I went to School there" card but I refuse. I had this conversation yesterday actually at tailgating

Gayle Sayers was pretty explosive returning kicks.

Hester is by far the best in the game right now and if he stays healthy and teams continue to kick to him, will shatter all return TD records.

I imagine you'd give me ammo for insulting you within a matter of minutes, since every third word out of your mouth is borderline moronic.

It's irrelevant what sports I've played as to whether I know anything about football. That logic is terrible...again, no surprise.

Obviously, your very extensive background in sports has given you zero insight at all into this topic, so you've proven my point that which sports you have or have not played is irrelevant to a topic of conversation like this.

Watch it now!
Punter Brad Maynard got the team MVP one season. (2001?)

ArlJim78 11-26-2007 01:58 PM

the guy is incredible, I don't recall anything like it.

his direction changes happen in a fraction of a blink of the eye.

for the record, the team itself is marginal at best.

Maynard actually won his conference player of the year while in college.

Let's all relax with the Maynard love. It is amazingly sad that we are this low as a team that we are actually TALKING about the punter.

Note: he is good though :)

He's an incredible punt returner, really nothing special as a kick returner. Four kick return TDs in two years is very nice but considering he's broken the four long ones it makes his average look even more average. I'm pretty sure if Terrence McGee didn't have to be an every down player on defense that he would blow Hester away in average (he did average 30.2 in 2005 which is pretty amazing for a full time defender). Hester gains a big advantage in being 100% for every return because he barely plays at all offensively.

I'm not saying what sports you play has any effect on what you know about sports, but don't come on here talking like some expert like Jim Rome tries to do when he was just a fricken tennis player.

I said that Cribbs was a best returner this year, look at these numbers:
Kick Returns
Cribbs- 47 returns, 32.5 yard avg., 1,529 total yards, 2 tds, 100 yard long, 1 fumble.
Hester- 31 returns, 24.8 yard avg., 770 total yards, 2 tds, 97 yard long, 2 fumbles.

Punt Returns
Cribbs- 18 returns, 11.1 yard average, 200 total yards, 0 tds, 0 fumbles.
Hester- 33 returns, 15.9 yard average, 526 yards, 3 tds, 4 fumbles.

Cribbs has the better Kick return numbers, Hester the better punt return numbers. Only difference is Mr. Hester likes to put the ball on the ground.

So Hester has 64 total returns, Cribbs has 65 total returns. Cribbs has 433 more yards, Cribbs has a higher average, Hester has 3 more tds, Cribbs has 5 less fumbles.

Golly, Spartacus. I find it hard to believe that anyone on this board could find you irritating. I'll bet Jonathan Cribbs is praying that your support doesn't translate into the same kind of success it did for Charlie Weiss this year.

The guy has played two years and is already running out of superlatives. Just thought I'd move this back to the front.
