SEC games
Good God what a great bunch of games this season.
This conference is a joy to watch. |
c'mon cats! please!!!!
|
Unbelievable.
THey must script these SEC games... |
p, when you're a ky. fan, nothing is a surprise....
|
CBS definitely gets its monies worth with SEC football package...
Vols score in 3OT, game tied, awaiting conversion for victory OR miss for fourth OT. I'm tired just typing this post. |
uk lost the game first in regulation by not play for the TD to win, then did it again in the 2nd ot, they played for the FG to win.
the cats had to good a season to see it end that way. |

actually, it's not a break for lsu, as they needed to face the higher ranked ga next week.
of course if they play like they did yesterday, it won't matter. lsu played not to lose yesterday, rather than doing what they did early in the season. crappy game vs an opponent i can't stand. now i get to listen to all these g--d--- arky fans who get to crow because they won, and went 7-5 for the year. yippee. i'd have rather lost to bama then the hogs. hey, now maybe i can deal with another year of these yahoos talking about whether nutt can stay or go. like 10 years of that crap wasn't enough. dammed fair weather arkansas fans. ready to feed their coach to the lions every time he doesn't perform to their overblown standards, but he's probably everyones hero today..... |

yeah, it was a far outside shot. hell, if they wanted it bad enough, they would have won yesterday. still had a good time, but definitely would have been better to leave with a win. |
This year the SEC was just way too tough.
No team in the country could escape without a pretty bad loss. If you are slightly off one week, you lose. |

i felt early on that they were playing yesterday not to lose. too many times they came down to the wire, this time they fell on the wrong side of it. les miles seemingly was outcoached in the second half. game should have been blown out early on, but it wasn't. should not have gone into overtime, but it did.
i believe you're biased against both lsu and the sec, so i doubt you would see anything other than what you've been seeing all year regarding the play and the opponents.. it's just another year of any sec team being able to beat a fellow conference member. a lot of physicality, which has definitely caught lsu with several players having limited or no play at all yesterday. flynn was abysmal, the defense in the second half seemed confused. but then, one has to wonder how much the def coordinator was paying attention to his CURRENT job when he's trying very hard to get his next job. it was a muddled mess, and arkansas benefitted greatly. you can't make mistakes and play half assed play and expect to win in that conference. |

they beat miss state 45-0. first three games this year, their opponents combined for one score between them, while lsu scored over 40 points each game. but they hit sec play, and a wall. only one wide open game since then, and then a fairly easy win vs ole miss.. and then yesterdays ugliness. maybe i shouldn't be wishing for miles to stay.... i think he's a good coach, but they definitely aren't playing up to their seeming talents. |

steltz was gimpy most of last night as well. very brutal game, with doucet getting dinged up several times. i had my doubts the other day. the guy i bet in the colts/pats game offered one for yesterday, i declined. |

as for dominating, i just think that the sec is loaded, and any one of those schools can win each week. it's not like many other conferences where you have one or two decent teams, and everyone else is just filler. i think the sec is the best conference, but i don't think that conference is far and away the best. but someone has to be the top, and i feel comfortable in saying that the sec is the deepest and most contentious group of teams out there. |

hell, vandy still had a shot had they beat wake today at getting into a post season game. which just goes to show you that there is too much post season play! |

let's be honest, there is no great team out there. hell, you'd have a hard time finding 5 solid-in-every-phase teams. playoffs are the only way. btw, what does it say for the big east when cincy is gonna get stuck in a crappy papa john's bowl? they haven't done a very good job w/ the bowl tie-ins. |
We usually rate conferences in a comparative manner.
What conference is better than the SEC? (Hint: The answer is: none are better.) |

Tennesse/Cal L SC/Clemson L FL/FL St W LSU/Va Tech W Wake/ Vandy L GA/OK St W GA/GA Tech W Aub/S FL L Aub/K ST W Miss St/WV L Mizzou/Ol Miss L SC/NC W KY/Lou W Ala/FSU L That is the SEC vs the other major conferences 7 wins 7 losses Hardly dominant or clearly the best I didnt even bring up UL Monroe Of course you may choose to ignore the results of actual games and continue to rely on your personal polls and other such ranking tools. It would probably qualify you to be on the Board of the NCAA football playoff committee. |

The best football I have seen this year is in the SEC. The best athletes I have seen all around are in the SEC. And I am a little 12 fan. |
