Ark. vs LSU

Ark leads 28-21 with 5 min to go...

skippy3481 11-23-2007 05:32 PM

Lsu can't buy a call. And i swear this game is so much better on mute.

dylbert 11-23-2007 05:44 PM

LSU must have sent post-dated check... LOL

ninetoone 11-23-2007 05:45 PM

go for 2

dylbert 11-23-2007 05:51 PM

McFadden Wins Heisman?!

If Arkansas pulls off victory, McFadden wins Heisman off his performance today. He's done everything except kick and play cornerback and I bet he can probably do those tasks well, too.

If the Heisman goes to anyone other than Tebow, it would be criminal.

sweet

GPK 11-23-2007 06:06 PM

LSU = done

ALostTexan 11-23-2007 06:15 PM

I love it. Great game. Still too many things need to happen to have Ohio State go anywhere except the Rose Bowl, but this is another piece of their puzzle...

College football...
This may be one of the most enjoyable seasons I have witnessed.
(Despite the fact my Longhorns absolutely stink!)

There are so many possibilities at this point.
You dont hear about the playoff system this year
with such chaos due to upsets.

THis has been a great year.

First two players taken in the draft:

1. Kentucky QB
2. McWildman of Hog fame. (I think he is on the level of A. Peterson)

If the teams that choose first dont go to fill a big gap in the O-line or some other immediate deficiency.

The KY QB isn't even the best pro prospect in his own state

Maybe now the LSU backers will finally see what I have been talking about....good team but a lot of flaws too

I agree, one of the best seasons I have witnessed. Not too thrilled with the playoff system, because all that does is make games like today that much less meaningful, IMO.

McFadden will be #2 in voting...Tebow has done something that's never been done in College!

mcfadden and brennen should easily be 1-2 in the heisman. tebow has to much other talent around him.

a 16 team playoff like the other divisions play would be PERFECT for this year!
sorry CS, i still think lsu and usc are the 2 best teams in the country. osu is a close 3rd. hawaii and wvu are in the top 10 because they would drive everyone crazy with those offenses and their speed.

horseofcourse 11-24-2007 10:04 AM

The Heisman Trophy should quite obviously be the quarterback of the winning team tonight. It isn't even debatable, or even contested. Reesing and Daniel are the only two I would consider for the Heisman. I'd rank Pat White 3rd. The only time that team lost was when he missed over half the game against S Florida. I'd rank Dixon high becuase of that too...a completely different team with him not playing. When Brennan missed games, the Hawaii offense was exactly the same. Graunke put up huge numbers on the road last week against Nevada.

right now I'd rank them...

1. (tie) Reesing/Daniel
3. Pat White
4. Dennis Dixon
5. McFadden
6. Tebow
7. Brennan
8. Crabtree
9. Woodson
10. Jimmy Clausen

The Bid 11-24-2007 10:37 AM

O-h-i-o

King Glorious 11-24-2007 01:22 PM

After this weekend:
Missouri wins
1-West Va
2-Missouri
3-Ohio St.
4-Ga Tech

Kansas wins
1-Kansas
2-West Va
3-Ohio St.
4-Ga Tech

Oklahoma beats either of them in the Big 12 title game and that opens the door for WV/OSU in the title game. There are two things that could come into play. There is a huge wildcard here.....Kentucky. Kentucky plays against Tennessee. If they Wildcats can beat Tennessee, that puts Georgia in the SEC title game. The Bulldogs are currently ranked 7th but three teams ahead of them will have lost (LSU, Missouri/Kansas, Arizona St) so there is a very good chance that they will be #4 (provided they beat Ga Tech today). If they are in the #4 position after this weekend, a win in the SEC title game over LSU could be enough to jump them up over idle Ohio St. If Tennessee beats Kentucky, they go to the SEC title game instead and that would virtually elimate Georgia's shot at the BCS title game.

The other question is how far down does LSU fall? What if they only fall to the fourth spot? That would still leave them very much in the title chase. If they only fall to fourth, they would still have a chance to move up to #3 when Oklahoma beats the Missouri/Kansas winner. If they are #3 and win the SEC title game, could that be enough to vault them over Ohio St? If that title game win is over #4 Georgia, it could be.

The Bid 11-24-2007 01:43 PM

There is noway LSU could end the season ahead of O-H-I-O with 2 losses

They would be behind OSU after this week but I wouldn't have any problem with them leaping over OSU if they were to beat Georgia in the SEC title game. That would be six wins over teams that were ranked at the time of them playing them, including wins over Va Tech, Florida and Georgia, three teams that are in the top 10 in the country now. OSU's resume comes nowhere close to matching that.

The only way the kid is not taken very high is if he is a head case. He can do everything well.
Reguardless what happens today. Is he a head case?

They also have losses to a 5 loss team and a 4 loss team at home. They will be playing Tennessee anyway it looks. This year's LSU team is one of the most overrated teams in college football history. They are fortunate they don't have 3 or 4 losses. I would put Oklahoma in the title game ahead of them if Oklahoma beats Kansas or Missouri next week considering Oklahoma's loss to Texas Tech was with Sam Bradford sitting on the bench. LSU is good and beat some good teams, but they were very fortunate to beat both Auburn and Florida. To me losing at home to a 4 loss Arkansas team disqualifies them regardless. Texas Tech is as good as Arkansas and Oklahoma played without their quarterback on the road that game. I would honestly put USC ahead of LSU at this point as well. I think they're better as well. And since they're not playing each other, I would also rank Georgia higher than LSU.

It's all a goat rope anyway. This is why you need a 16 team playoff, or at the very least an 8 team playoff so they can all play each other...because there are no definitive number 1 or 2 teams this year anyway and most years there aren't. What I would love to see is just what you're saying and actually have West Virginia lose, and have the Kansas/Missouri winner lose to Oklahoma and then we can all decide which TWO loss team belongs in the chamionship game to play a not really strong Ohip State team!! you'd have all of them scrapping...

LSU
Georgia
Oklahoma
Southern Cal
Virginia Tech or BC
Oregon

which one would it be??

then even Hawaii would have a legit claim as well.

How many 500+ yard games does LSU have to give up before you SEC guys give it up? And dont give me that overtime stuff because it was 499 going into the OT's. That is a team that without a couple fortunate breaks has 4 losses and is looking mighty strong in the Peach Bowl.

If there were ever a season where a playoff were needed it is this year. Oklahoma is no great shakes either. After watching the mighty Baylor move the ball up and down the field against them and blowing a 17 point second half lead to Colorado does not impress.

On a turf field Hawaii scores a ton of points on LSU, Oklahoma, Kansas, Mizzou, WV, Ohio St... They may not be big enough on the d line or deep enough to win consistently against those teams but they would put up some #'s on them.

By the way what the hell happened to FSU? Did they stop paying the players or something? Maybe they are over the salary cap. Who is recruiting for them now? Isiah Thomas?

ddthetide 11-24-2007 06:32 PM

wvu is in the championship game against kansas, mizzu or osu. osu should knock wvu around. wvu against ku or mizzu, wvu by at least 20. there'd by NO living out here with the hillbillies.:(

I think on turf, WV wins against any of those teams. WVU is a better version of Illinois.

brohm should be the 1st qb drafted, no question.

I take him ahead of Brohm easily.
The kid has everything.

1. Extremely quick release
2. Strong arm
3. Good view of the field.
4. Speed
5. Strength

The only category of the 5 mentioned above I might give Brohm is #3.
And of course Woodson is only 6' 5". I am totally enamored with everygame I have watched him play despite his mistakes which can be easily corrected. The upside on this kid is HUGE
Bigger than my type.

This is coming from the same guy who told you Cedric Benson was a dime a dozen back when most people had him going #1 and the Bears took him 3 or 4. Pgardn watches.

BTW the best RB in San Antonio who had signed with Arkansas tore his knee up. Probably would have led his San Antonio team to a 5A championship for the first time in a long time. An absolute Hoss.

That was a good observation by Mr. Otis the elevator.

Mel was the idiot who had Cedric Benson going
